Bosporus is not a river … it’s a canal and a water path
@ExpatsEverywhere4 жыл бұрын
Yes, getting technical, it's a strait.

@@ExpatsEverywhere Strait is nothing technical, it's common. River is way off the mark.
@ExpatsEverywhere3 жыл бұрын
@@umarsyed7538 we were setting at the canal and a water path. Let’s just call it a strait. That’ll strait-en it out, won’t it?

The Bosphorus is definitely NOT a river. It is the Marmara SEA itself!

its a strait not a river though...you said it yourselves, it connects to seas...

Thank you for the good information...I just have to make a correction. Bosporus or Bosphorus is a natural canal or “Strait” that connects the waters between Black Sea and Sea of Marmara and by extension Dardanelles that connects Aegean and Mediterranean Sea...
@ExpatsEverywhere3 жыл бұрын
Thank for the comment and compliment. We've noted on other comments as well that we incorrectly identified the Bosphorus. Cheers.

Bosphorus is a natural strait connecting the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara, thus being a very strategic waterway. It was a river in the valley during the Tertiary period of the continents, which was submerged by the sea at the end of that period.

Thanks for the useful video. Just a small question, in regards to jobs mentioned in the video, “translator”. Is learning turkish is a must in this case? Or having 4 languages would be enough to find a job in this field? Many thanks!
@ExpatsEverywhere4 жыл бұрын
Nathalie Issa Thank you for the question. In most cases, you will want to be able to translate from or to Turkish, but it will depend on the job. Search the market and see if there are those that need you to go between languages not named Turkish. 4 languages is impressive. All the best.

You don't need to learn Turkish for the majority of English speaking jobs in Turkey, including for teaching English. Did you end up going?
