@@randym7961it's not about your fiat imploding which it is doing. It's about Joe average getting angry since they can't pull their cash out of failing banks. The situation is different then with the last bailout well at least if the running starts which isn't a given. And maybe they can stabilise the market pressing all fiscal levers till after the election which is Unthinkable insanity in itself. Thankfully people accelerate the downfall of American society to take control like the superheroes they cosplay as. O 0 Rather peculiar all in all. Oh look a bug in society let's exploit it. Due to fractional reserve banking ALL BANKS are insolvent. The banks don’t have your, I mean “their” money, less printed notes in the vault. The sooner people realize this, the sooner they can convert their savings and move it out of the current unsustainable financial system.
@Elementaldomain
@Elementaldomain 4 ай бұрын
MOST people have little understanding of what Fractional Reserves means, so I will help out here. FR system is where the banks overstate, highly overstate their assets. However, those asset are just digital…digital money which doesn’t exist. Liquidity means actual cash. It’s a PONZI scheme. They have no actual cash to back up your account deposits….which is why they are starting to deny larger withdrawals. Research the Frank Dodd Act. The banks are starting to implement it quietly. They can take your money, any and all of it, to bail-in their insolvency. On top of that, many independent studies indicate the Fed Reserve has less than 2% of what would be needed to pay out FDIC claims. As a further explanation of over stating assets: They can claim a CRE building is worth whatever they want it to be. Doesn’t mean it’s worth that. It’s what landed Trump in court….over stating the worth of his CRE to get loan amounts that are higher than what the “assets” are, in reality, worth.

Yes, and then, surprisingly, those assets will be taxed and confiscated away. You know, just like those Russian assets. I don't care what people blabber. Gold, crypto, silver, real estate, art and older coins are just like fiat currency. Good luck keeping them. Good luck having wealth when the prices for those items bottom out or inflation overtakes them. Don't forget, the US has already stolen peoples gold, eminent domain to steal real estate, bye bye silver, platinum, palladium and rhodium, coins illegal to possess or sell, and you will have to pay huge taxes on unrealized gains on your artworks. Think I'm crazy? Learn some history about what happens when empires, monarchies, republics, and other governments are about to fail. A good thing to look at is how all of these debase their currencies by moving to silver, then less metal, then bronze, etc. Always happens before, always to happen now, yet again.

So that in essence proves it is not " one administration" causing it.

Chump did his part in crashing it. WHAT YOU MISSED Executive salaries have increased by 7000% business profits increases 560% and are at record levels. The top 50 or 55 US companies pay ZERO TAX. WAGES stagnated because companies convinced people low or no pay rises would create jobs what it actually did year on year was pull your wages backward and why people say I'm earning what I was 10 years ago. US inflation rates are FALSE they're higher fancy accounting makes it look better. Job figures dropped 1 million last November and Genocide Joe brags about 300,000 part time jobs mostly second jobs. Major companies like Walmart have full time employees on Government assistance. And while spending Trillions on wars and bail outs for negligent business they convince YOU a pay rise or proper health care is Communism. Endless war has destroyed America they now BRAG how arms sales will BOOST EMPLOYMENT. Basically Americans fell for decades of lies you are not the greatest country in the world never were more Shinola for the masses. AMERICA is now printing ONE TRILLION extra every 100 days just to stay afloat and interest on it rises by ONE HUNDRED BILLION every 40 days. You're finished what's coming will make the Great Depression look like the really small dip. Even better all the new illegals MANAGEMENT brags how it will force wages LOWER enabling them to cut costs. China through clever strategy has out stripped America it now has more BILLIONAIRE'S and MILLIONAIRES than the rest of the world their economy through clever planning just gets bigger Americas answer threaten war and propagandise the US public war will save them you'll lose that as well. 17,000 sanctions trying to crush Russia has seen their economy BOOOOM like no time in history everything at record levels wages productivity etc while they convince you FIGHT FIGHT. Only toppling US OGLIARCHS will save America and its too late because they control the Government. Extreme Poverty is coming to America and it won't leave there is not one person running for President that is not owned or selected by the wealthy or your real masters the TRIBE who niw demand you assist in Genocide while lecturing China about human rights.

Thank you for another informative piece. IMHO the ones who “allow” certain banks to fail need to be brought to account. They are the very same people who claim they’re not wanting to start a run on the banks. But when a run on those which have been chosen to be allowed to fail is inevitable all they are doing is buying time for those in the know to withdraw their funds. Another well architected transfer of wealth. When will this madness end ?

After pandemic, many banks invested in real estate, hoping that work from home ended. Did not happen, so they are stuck with empty real estate that produces no profit. This could have caused a collapse sooner, but treverse repos served as a way to delay the inevitable. Now repos ended. No one will refinance these real estate projects that failed. So bankruptcy was the visible option since long ago. So this is not a surprise unless people live under a rock.

Banks bought up long term US treasuries at the start of the pandemic. The average investors didn't have a reason to buy them for a decade that preceded it. When the prices of these long term treasuries began to drop. They didn't drop enough for the average investors to bother with buying them. Especially since, the yield curve inversion made it more attractive to own short term. A yield curve inversion also was happening in 2019. The yields flat lined during the pandemic. However, when the treasuries began to sell off. The amount of short term being dumped onto the market by the US Treasury Department. This made them more attractive due to shorter duration of risk, and a higher yield. The retail investor recognizing better returns made their way into short term treasuries. This left the banks holding thr bag this time. It was coordinated. These banks all made the wrong decisions on purpose.

My question for those wiser and more knowledgeable than myself, is "Why did so many banks load up on US Treasury debt paper at a time when interest rates were at a 40 year low?". I'm not a bond investor, although I do have some money in short-term UST paper, but even I know that the best time to buy bonds is when interest rates are high and the Fed is likely to reduce rates. Yet bankers, who know much more about such things than I do, managed to get themselves in an untenable position re UST paper bought at rock bottom interest rates and are now severely underwater with those "investments". Can someone please explain why this happened? What did the Fed tell them that induced this reverse logic action?

So to fix the entire banking situation, the Fed could just lower rates to make those bonds more valuable. Instead we will have bank collapses and bank runs and the Fed will respond to that by opening up giant lines of credit for banks to tap to keep them afloat. Also referred to as money printing.

Lena, would you be interested in creating a "model" bank balance sheet that users could use to compare their banks to? It would include reasons why some banks are stronger than others, who they are, and which banks are weaker than others and who they are. You already mentioned some banks being overextended in CRE and/or interest sensitive investments that are underwater but unrealized.

What is your suggestion for those that have money in Banks? Is there a particular amount you should not go above or should look at gold as an asset? Just wondering what your thoughts are.

Only keep enough in the bank for bills. Expect to lose what’s in there. Put yourself in a position where if your bank collapsed and you couldn’t get your money bank, will you be ok?

As Josh said: don't keep a dime more than you need to cover outgoings. I've been doing this since 2020 - selling ounces as and when I need. Two weeks ago I sold a unit I brought for **** - sold for almost exactly 33% gain

Nobody knows the answer to that. Most people have around $1.44 in the bank and they give advises. Going even 50% in gold and silver is also a risk. They will tell you you need to keep it home because if you don't hold it you don't own it. Apparently keeping this much at home has no risk ...
