For 8:30 regarding growth rates, although the answers determine that fixed initial boost to your stats, does this affect the level up stats you get each level? From what I thought, it seemed like it was evenly distributed. Thinking about going hybrid to experience all the builds, playing on hard as well so I don’t mind the extra challenge.

That's what some of us were discussing. I didn't have time to level up all starting choices but from what others gathered each stat gets one point before they loop again with the Growth Rate weighted towards the question you answered!

Just on a side note just like in the other persona games getting X coins in a royal stat doesn't reflect the actual gain in the stat. Seeing as you need to hit some exact stat points to advance a lvl but how many points you get is mostly unknown, someone did some testing and gettin +1-5 in a stat would display 1 coin, +6-7 is 2 coins, +8-9 gives 3 coins, +10 shows the 4 coins, +11-12 has 5 coins, +13-14 = 6 coins, +15 would give 7 coins and lastly +16-32 uses 8 coins. In this case you need 16 points to reach wisdom lvl 2, sitting on the bench gives +6 and the side quest gives +10 so it gives a total of 16 for a lvl up.

Are you certain that the stat pick at the start influences your growth rate? From the screencaps you showed, all 5 level-ups gave +1 STR regardless. It seems more like the protagonist follows a balanced growth no matter what, and the choice only determines your starting spread. It would take significant testing to actually confirm if the growths change, ie leveling multiple selections at least to 10 if not higher, without sinking any points, and then subtracting the stats you started with. Whether they end up different or the same after all that, then that would be proof.

You can test for yourself Wakka. I have four different files and my MC stats are all different with no points allocated.

@@Naztalgic_Memories But did you subtract your starting stat spread? Your stats would be different if you kept it in, but factoring them out would tell you what stats you gained from levels. For instance, as your Strength MC, do -7 St, -3 Ma, -5 En, Agi, Lk. Then, for Magic, do the same but swap around St and Ma. The final numbers for both with no points spent or Incense used would tell us not only if there is a difference, but what the difference is. The curious thing for me is my Magic MC gained +1 for each stat in order before, oddly, cycling back around to Magic instead of Strength. Which made me think that maybe your starting stat is *slightly* favored, but I haven't done extensive testing.

@@WakkaMadeInYevon I see where you are coming from. All the clips were from my Magic route. My stats you saw were 11/16/13/11/11 but they are actually 9/14/11/9/11 since they got +2 from having Warrior, Healer, Knight and Brawler leveled up which give permanent stat increase. If we then substract the starting stats we're at 5/7/6/4/6 for the stat growths. So Magic route does have the most Magic and the lowest in Agility. I don't recall what my other files starting choice were or I'd do them too but I'm sure we'd get a similar answer.

​@@Naztalgic_Memories hes right. The starting question is just your Starting Stats. The growth rate is fixed. So far it seems that every level youre getting a differend Statpoint. That als8 seems the Reason you can chose 1 Skillpoint for your self because at the end it seems youre some jack of all Traits and master of none with equally allocated Statpoints. Bigger question is can you respec at some point? If you went full STR Route and then chose to become a Mage it could be crucial

​@@Naztalgic_Memories The math is slightly off here. Starting St on the Mage path is 3 (you get +1 to 4 from the first level), so you would've had a growth of +6. That puts St in line with En/Luk. I also noticed a semi-randomness to what stats you get *first* in my Strength test. For instance, my MC got St -> Ma as expected, but then got Agi before En, before getting Lk as expected and cycling back to St. Same as my Mage getting +1 Ma before St. So it seems like it doesn't just go down the list, but rather goes through a different order, and you will get at least +1 of each stat before you "start a new loop." This would explain your +1 higher Ma, as it's possible you simply got that stat first as part of a "new loop." It would not, however, explain Ag being -2 lower than everything else. However, are you positive you got +2 Ag from any of the Archetypes? Looking online, I found statements that the Warrior, Healer, Knight, and Brawler bonuses are 2 ST, 2 MA, 2 EN, and *20 HP* respectively. That would mean you actually had an Ag growth of +6, which would fit the theory that growths are balanced overall but the order is not set. I did not go to the Cathedral on my Mage run and certainly do not want to grind enough to Master anything so I am in the dark here.

Question: I think you’re using the Energy Ray synthesis skill, but I’m pretty sure it says it’s a “physical Light-based” attack. So in that case, Magic would never affect it. So maybe Magic effects other synthesis skills that don’t have the qualifier?

Magic affects any of the Magical synthesis like the ones the Mage can use. The reason I mentioned Magic doesn't affect the Energy Ray is because other titles from Shin Megami Tensei and Persona had skills that double dipped in scaling. Some used both Strength and Magic. Maybe there will be some outliers yet to be unlocked so saying never is jumping the gun Shortie.

@@Naztalgic_Memories that’s totally fair. I think in this *specific* case, the physical indicates it’s a strength scaler and the Light part is just the attribute, taking place of a blunt or slash. It was huge when I learned weapons actually affect your skills. In other SMT titles you can usually ignore your weapons because they wouldn’t affect spells and physical skills. Oh I thought mag would affect healing but if it’s raw weapon power making the melee dps and tanks healers with some dei spells seems like a good way to have emergency healing.

Doesnt make sense to place a Restroom right at a Savepoint unless you are forced out of the Dungeon and then Fast travel to the Restroom. Also the Demo Dungeon was pretty small for a Major Story Dungeon without even a bigger Bossfight. So i really doubt this is already the Full Dungeon we saw in the Demo.

I said only to kill one at a time IF you can not kill them all at once. Later enemies will have various resistance so you can't just spam one AOE Skill like you can right now and kill them all. It's to practice optimal kill order for the mid-late game!

Im gonna assume this logic is likely specific to the Demo`s Belega corridor which has likely the highest level mobs for the demo, the level 16 goblins(that can actually be fought at that point in time). The game itself has that taste of Nocturne level difficulty, where you can get your shite absolutely kicked in with enemies hitting just as hard as you are hitting and getting hit by weakness/critical can ruin you if you got a goblin get a frenzy proc because of a magic user is present and they start dishing out what i can only assume is tier 2 physical attacks like myriad shots and so on. Throw in the fact the goblins do NOT have weaknesses you can get, this means getting a Stun attack off to gut nearly half thar health is a must-have and the best way to survive those buggers especially if you have a mage present is to focus fire down one of them at a time if you cant sweep them in a single turn immediately, meaning you need to rely on the stun status which SOMETIMES does not stick for some enemies from time to time, meaning a single one can proceed to punch you in a mangled corpse by itself with frenzy. As for beating one enemy `group` at a time, if you start a squad battle with some distance on enemies, you can end up getting more squad battles per area, since you would get 3 goblins with a single level 16 goblin but if you have both of them nearby (likely both stunned) you would get 4 goblins instead, meaning a net loss of 2 goblins worth of exp at the cost of doing 2 battles instead and likely a slice of more MP used up... Funfact though, since the Mage passive gives MP whenever a enemy EITHER Dies OR is stunned, you can still stun the level 16 goblins and run away without starting a squad fight to get some easy mp back if you dont wanna start a squad fight. Thankfully you do get a few moves near the end of those tier 1 archetypes which helps out such as Warrior getting a passive for +20% to slash damage. Mage`s Magic circle giving an extra +10% magic attack and Seeker being the only one of the 5 archetypes you get by default to have a tier 2 spell in the form of Cyclo. With the 2 highlights for healer being Medi for AoE heals and a medium hp regen at max which will be fantastic for inheritance benefits likely. Donno what Merchant does besides being likely your money/drop-rate bolsterer, but since you likely have to use the cathedral to grind that one instead of wasting time by going to the belega corridor a 2nd time, its likely a bit more tedious to grind.

@@BladeSerph oddly enough the goblins were really easy I started the dungeon at level 13/ 14 at that point most of the goblins were already able to be one-shotted by me without entering term base combat. Intern bass combat using synthesis skills after starting them in action combat I could beat them in one turn. The boss was pretty easy but probably would have been difficult if I didn't know it was weak to ice so I kept spanning ice and healing my party when I can took me about four rounds of turns. I could have beat him easier if I knew his other weakness. I am playing on normal

@@DwillGame Thats because you have 2 types of goblin groups: -The `Normal goblins` which are more around level 9 or so, which often are mixed with the others so those can be cleaned out so your not dealing with what could likely be more then 3~4 goblins at a time. -The Mage/Archer/Warrior goblins which are level 16. Which tend to be sturdy enough if you dont use Warrior`s high damage moves after stunning them since a Surprise attack+Synthesis skill AoE magic nuke can only `barely` kill some at times due to damage variations and what not or just leave a chip of HP left. Thankfully leveling archetypes also give extra stats and i decided im gonna go with a INT+END spread build for the protagonist so eventually that balanced out better. Im only in the 16~18s for the chatacter with some archetypes about to hit max level so i can start using the over leveling cheese for a much more flexible means to level other archetypes. Likely it will be FAR easier once i update the weapons/armor but since that means i gotta exit the corridor to make use of the whooping 17k~ money and 14k~ MAG im now sitting on with a bunch of valuables (including 19 old coins i got from goblin drops) Not to mention im also sitting on 12 superior rusted long arms and 3 rusted accessories and 20 stunning arrows which i would bet those appriased weapons (probably gonna be spears if they dont happen to also encompass staffs too) are likely gonna be rather strong gear probably equal or 2nd to those expensive as fk 5 digit weapons. Yeah thats gonna take some time. For now i think i will make my goal to get 2~3 archetypes maxed on each character with maybe around 50+ or so of those 1,000 exp hero leafs since at 3 characters with maxed archetype you can get about 3 leafs at a time or only need to `max level proc` around 17 times in general, though it depends on how much it slows down once the characters hit level 19.

My reason for not buying this game is the limitation of 10 days before the story progresses. How much more stressful does this make the game in your opinion? I feel like it'll put me into choice paralysis or regret if I don't make the right decisions

There are no right or wrong decisions in games like this. Just do whatever you feel like doing and have fun. Minmaxing sucks all the joy out of games.

On the surface level it seems stressful but if you actually look at what's available to do before the deadline, it isn't much. You actually will have seven days left if you did all Side quests. The game also isn't as tight as Persona games so I wouldn't stress about it Julian!

Nah, I completed SMT V Vengeance and gave the middle finger to min-maxing demons, ended up dying to demi-fiend 20 times but at the end I got my one shot setup. Also most side quests don't give one-time items, and even the dragon I bet you can go and fight it again after a while when you get the Gaunlet Runner
