Most unique climate of any city in the world. A city in a Tropical location (12 degrees S Latitude, similar to Indonesia), at sea level, yet it has a chilly climate similar to San Francisco, the ocean is too cold to swim in, and the sun hardly ever shines. It messes with your head a little bit. Beautiful city with wonderful people.

Lima, you are so beautiful. I celebrated my 30th bday in 2014 in your beautiful city and it is the best birthday I have ever had. I will never forget you. I was here about 2 months ago. It's definitely doable on a backpacker's budget, especially if you opt for a modest accomodation and eat where the list Cal's eat. It's definitely cheaper than Cusco.
