Wonderful place, Radolfzell ! I travelled there in Oct. 1959 to study at the Goethe Institute, which had just opened a branch in the town. Unfortunately, I've forgotten virtually all the German I learned through non-use. It seems the school was moved away years ago, but I still remember the town with much fondness, especially the hotel where I stayed upon arrival. The hotel stood exactly facing the railway station, and was fairly grand, but I can't remember its name, though I still remember the name of a son of the owners -- Horst, who befriended me and was well known in the town. As I now examine the map, I find that there is no hotel facing the station! Finally, the Bodensee actually froze over that winter.

Als die MS Radolfzell noch Königin Katharina hieß war sie um einiges schoner gestaltet und der name war viel passender.
