Preparing & Testing My Gear For the 100km+ Overland Track

G'day Guys,
In this video I'll take you through my complete gear list of everything I'm taking on 'The Overland Track' in Tasmania.
I've bought a lot of new gear with a focus on 'lightweight' and 'cost effective'.
I've managed to keep my complete kit including 8 days food and 4kg of camera gear under 20kg!
I'll also take you with me on an overnight trip in Singapore to field test my new backpack, tent, mattress, cooking gear etc.

ABOUT THE OVERLAND TRACK:
The Overland Track in Tasmania is one of Australia's most iconic multi-day hiking tracks.
Running from Cradle Mountain in the north to Lake St Clair in the south, the 80km track snakes its way through pristine Tasmanian high country wilderness.
Around 8000 people each year tackle the track and many like me keep going back again and again.
The track can be completed in around 5 nights but we'll be taking 8 nights to allow extra time for some of the side trips along the way . . . Barn Bluff, Mt Ossa etc.
In this video series I'll take you with me through the pre-trip planning & preparation, the track and side trips and a wrap up at the end once I get home.

i enjoyed this. Im starting the track next month, im on the fence about the down jacket situation. Im reluctant to leave the down at home especially at the end of April early May.

I would take it and keep it in a dry bag in you pack for night time. It will be colder next month than early Feb when we were there.

I’ve ordered quite a lot of gear from AliExpress over the past free years,l and never had any issues. It’s a marketplace like eBay so there is the possibility of an unreliable supplier on there but I think AliExpress does a pretty good job of keeping them honest. Just my experience.
