Exact same rating out of me too. The whole appeal of this franchise was seeing our favorite 80s action stars interact and team up with one another, even if we're gonna forget the plot the day after watching. 50 Cent and Megan Fox being added to the cast made me...a lot less excited. I didn't mind them but their characters felt wasted and not interesting at all. That's what didn't do anything for being adding them in this movie. Even that cool looking Asian chick didn't do much.

I have the first 2 Expendables many times and even third numerous even though I felt before watched some of 4th film that it was weakest would watch it because of Mel Gibson playing the villain and seeing Banderas and Ford. 4th film I don’t think will watch it in its entirety.

My fav action flick is Hard Target from back in the day. Good mindless fun, not a whole lot of story but loads of that late 80's style to it. Came out a couple years after T2 and it was the action renaissance of the 90's The Long Kiss Goodnight is another cool stylistic, mindless fun. TBH... loads of great stuff came out back in the day

There is a scene on long kiss goodnight where they mention hiting towers and blaming on muslims. That movie was out in 1996.

in a world where we have John wick - new standard of high budget action cinema, this is definitely substandard in comparison. Pretty much all the explosions are obvious CG. At this point, India action cinema does a better job with cheap over the top CG action. The hand to hand combats are choppy rather than wide angle shots. When you have guys like Jason Statham, Iko Uwais, and Tony Jaa that can do their own stunts, why would you not show the full splendor of the fights? It is further proof that American directors don''t know how to direct Asian talents - same with Jackie Chan, Jet Li and Donnie Yen; they get bigger paychecks, but the movies are forgettable. And let me not get into the bad one liners. These guys are not Arnold Schwarzenegger. Many of the lines just fell flat. I love Jason Statham and his Transporter movies; I wish he would go back to those movies while he is still young enough to do his own stunts.

Other than the two Raid films, Iko Uwais and Joe Taslim star in "The Night Comes for Us", and seeing Iko play the villain and the gory fights in that film, should scratch the itch that you needed from this film, and then some. Great review Chris.

That was actually the last great action movie Iko was ever in. It seems clear now that the Native Indonesian directors knows pretty well and better how to use Iko Uwais in a fight scene that he truly deserves whereas the American movies whatever he's in so far wasted his true potential, his roles and most importantly his fights. They did the same with Expend4bles as well. Wasted villian.

Green screen during the first mission was horrible. Actors were basically cardboard cutouts. At one point i was touching my face to see if I was wearing 3d glasses lol

I remember back in 2008 thinking man if this movie came out just 5 years ago it would be awesome . Now we’re 15 years later and now they are really too old for this shit lol. I thought 3 looked cheap but god damn this movie cost 100 million dollars why it look this cheap .John wick 1 cost 20 million dollars and this movie doesn’t look half as good as that movie .

It doesn't have Arnold, Antonio Banderas, Jet Li, Harrison Ford, Chuck Norris, Wesley Snipes, Terry Crews and all those youngsters they introduced in the 3rd movie. The 4th movie has no new action stars. I have no interest in watching this unfortunately :( This will fail

It was filmed during the pandemic I loved it but idk what happened to the cgi in the movie did lions gate say release it because I feel like they didn’t have enough time for the cgi that’s my only complaint and also wish sly was in it the whole time like the other movies he’s the heart of the expendables so idk what happened to the realism of graphics we don’t know the whole story of what happened behind the scenes and the edit room obviously they didn’t think it was gonna be bad I’m sure the actors are pissed to about the cgi so I get the complaints but it’s hard to make a movie let alone a script idk people just assume

They also had another fine Martial Arts actor and stunt man who was totally wasted in this Film, Mike Moeller who just gets punched in the face by Jason Statham in a Bar scene near the beginning of the film. It would have been great to see them exchange some moves as Mike is an exceptional Martial Artist but No just a Biff in the face from Jason Statham and its over a complete waste of his time and talent.

First we had Fan4stic, then we had Coming 2 America and now Expend4bles. It seems like every time Hollywood replaces a middle letter of their film's name with a number, that movie is doomed to flop hard. Either that or the director/film execs knew they had a stinker on their hands and decided to add a digit in the middle of the title to make the film appear more edgy, hoping this lazy marketing ploy will at least appeal to moviegoers with room temperature level IQ.

Movie is just terrible. Those BIG stars stoped being big 2 decades ago tho. They waste Iko Uwais & Tony Jaa and to do that you have to be a freaking talent. Also why Megan Fox and 50 cent is there !? They should call this movie transporter 4 bcs. Literaly jason statham is more than 60% of a movie.
