Just to clear up the slope function, there are two versions of this range finder. The one in this video is not tournament legal, it is always in slope mode and you can't turn it off. There is also a red and white version, that one has a switch to turn it on and off inside the battery door and that one is tournament legal.

Had a Callaway 200, and a Nikon cool shot 20. Got a Gogogo Sport Laser for christmas from my mother-in-law who didn't know I already had 2 others. The Gogogo was only $70, the other 2 cost $200. The Gogogo matched the other 2 by 1 yard, and my buddies Bushnell by 1 yard. Glass was just as clear, and now I get slope readings too. I sold the 2 expensive ones, kept the Gogogo, and spent the extra cash on a new wedge.

Splashed out on the top of the range Garmin that has the gps built in as well and have to say it's brilliant. To be able to see where on the green the pin is located from 150-200y out instead of just getting a distance number gives you the info on how to best play the shot to avoid sucker pins etc. Of course it still needs you to actually hit it, but for me it paints a clearer picture in my head. Also helps you when you cannot actually see the pin by giving you direction marker, excellent feature for us wayward hitters...

I got a 60 quid laser off Amazon in the Black Friday sale last year. Never had one before always used a GPS watch. Love the laser, check distance to hazards, marker posts anything. Much more useful than the GPS. BUT I still wear the GPS as its a great ‘guide’ device, if your on the fairway and can see all of the green the GPS is good enough for me as a 14 Hcp. If I’m inside 150 then I’ll laser as I know my SW to 8 distances are +/- 5 and where the flag is exactly will make a big difference between clubs. Go cheap, 4 for the price of 1 !
@downsouth16784 жыл бұрын
good comparison there , when you say both tell the time well its true , however when it comes to everything , the price as to do with build quality also so id say the reason in the price could also be linked to longevity and durability , id rather buy something one time and not have to buy again after, as always thanks for the honest review

I've used a laser rangefinder for 3 years now. A couple of points. You need line of sight for the laser to work. Pins without reflectors on them are hit and miss whether you get a reading. Even if it locks on the target, you don't know if it's locked on the flag or the bushes behind the green so you have to use your judgement. Next point, the info you really need is front and back yardage and the yardage of the pin. With the laser you're guessing front and back particularly if the green is elevated. With the GPS you're not getting the yardage of the pin. Lasers tend to be more accurate +/- 1 yard vs +/- 3 yards. You can now buy a device that has both the laser and GPS but they're expensive. More so than if you buy a basic laser and basic GPS......pick your poison. They really help you to understand how far you really hit your clubs which will help your game a lot.

I did a different version of this using a Garmin watch (Fenix 6 Sapphire) and Arccos on my phone (bought a set of Cobra clubs so got a free trial) and the difference was between 5 and 10 yards every time with the Arccos being slightly under meaning you may always end up short. Think this is due to the poor GPS receivers in phones. Garmin was always within 1 yards of my friends Bushnell. Amazing for GPS as we all know a good rangefinder will always be more accurate.
@boswellwhanau4 жыл бұрын
Friend has a Bushel Tour 4v and Ive a wogo amazon one that cost a fraction of my mates one. The differences pretty much are its easier to find the target on the Bushnel (locks on much quicker than mine), a bit easier to use in dull light (yellow rhetorical vs black) but other than that they are essentially the same performance wise. Distances are pretty much the same (my game doesn't notice the one or two yard difference between the units) BUT on the plus side...I saved several hundred quid that I then didn't use on golf lessons! :)

I can't see the point in these devices for the average golfer who probably doesn't hit each club the same distance on consecutive occasions. They are OK if you're a consistent ball striker, but as a mid handicapper how far I hit each shot depends on the time of day, the phase of the moon, what I had for breakfast etc. I'll carry on doing it by eye a I've always done.
@milesabove52594 жыл бұрын
Peter Molyneux I get that, but I use it to get more of an idea of how far each club goes. I feel I know better now which club will be too much if I really get a hold of it. Even at the range you can get a fairly close distance to a group of balls you’ve hit from one club.

You can turn the slope reading off but I can't remember how. I just don't turn it back on!

@sconterboy Have you remembered how to turn it off? I have the Pf210 & our Club Championships are on over the next two weekends. Rules stipulate no slope adjustment can be used. I don't look at the slope number anyway, but both numbers are on the screen & I can't turn it off. Cheers!

I have two gps units ,a watch type and hand held. both take a few moments to find the satellites . sometimes the course is not in the memory.the watch type is agonizing slow to find the sat.

Great video! I would really love to get one of those bushnell range finders. Like the fact its alot faster to pick the target out and the buzz to let you know its done.

I’d like the see this video again with these 2 range finders and an app such as 18Birdies. I’m struggling with even seeing the need for a range finder because I have an app that tells me distances

Every time you shot it they varied within 1-3 yards on both devices anyway so between the 2 value for money the cheap one is better. However the slope point was good.

Would love to see you test slope and find out how useful it is Shot first without knowing slope Second shot knowing the slope yardage
