I thought it would be obvious they needed to start slowing down. Then I realised how "forward, forward" could be misleading. (a) That could easily mean the direction they were already moving. (b) It could also mean the direction they facing, which was towards the dock (the crew themselves, not the vessel). (c) It could also mean towards the person giving instructions, who was on the shore. If they were putting their faith in the experienced person on the shore, it's easy to see how it happened.

Lorentz the annoying Llama None of that changes what I said. If the instruction had been "Move the handle to 'forward'", that would have been clear. But "Forward" on its own was ambiguous. Interpreted in any of the 3 ways I suggested it would mean "keep coming this way". Instinctively she probably felt she needed to slow down. In a car she would have applied the brake or at least taken her foot of the accelerator, but that instinct doesn't tell her what to do here.

Well he jumps alone. That means its for sure not his first jump, and because of the way he is moving while falling, i would guess he is an experienced jumper (for sure more then 100 jumps). THAT means he might have learned falling out of plane without making his parents cry in front of a rock, but they re still sad cuz falling and failing is all he can. As a passionated skydiver (432 jumps plane, 871 bridges / buildings / mountains) i would slap him right after seeing this so hard, he starts cryin like a girl. If this smartphone would smack the head of another jumper (even helmets, cuz of the often not saved face side), this person easily could get knocked out (plane jumps = ~110 miles/h) and not able to open the parachute.
