A CITY to be TOLD!
We returned to Nessebar after 2 years. I had a few emotions, but unjustified: Old Nessebar is as we remembered, full of charm and just as well cared for. We tried to capture on film the charm of this "pearl" of Bulgaria.
Nesebar Old Town is a magical place to visit in the evening hours. The winding streets and ancient buildings take on a different character as the sun sets and the city is bathed in soft, golden light. The sound of church bells ringing in the distance adds to the atmosphere of peace and tranquility. As you explore the narrow streets and alleys, you'll find charming restaurants and bars serving traditional Bulgarian cuisine and drink. You can also visit the many small shops and markets that line the streets, offering everything from handmade souvenirs to local crafts and artisanal products. Nesebar is an ancient town located on the shores of the Black Sea in the province of Burgas, Bulgaria. It is considered one of the great resorts of the Bulgarian coast, hence the name "Pearl of the Black Sea"! Nesebăr is a museum city with over three millennia of history. The small town is divided into two separate parts by a narrow man-made isthmus with the ancient part of the settlement on the peninsula (formerly an island), and the more modern section on the mainland.
