The water that is stowed in the cistern come from the creek in summer so you have to worry about beaver fever. Until I have time to design and built a good filtration system I won’t risk it. Even after the filter is installed I will still drink the spring water. It taste that good.

I've been eyeing something like this stove, thinking I'll eventually replace the BlazeKing in our house with a wood cookstove. We do have a battery bank, but in winter, I'd rather use the power during an extended outage to keep my freezers running, than run the electric range. Here's to waiting for the funds for a solar panel setup to go with the batteries... Still a bit short on budget for either of the two.
@curmudgeinnakАй бұрын
If you go with a wood cook stove get the new kind if you are looking to heat with it. The old ones have a tiny fire box and you may be up every few hours to stoke it. This one has a massive fire box. It burns over night with ease even when we burn the beetle killed spruce that is dry as a bone in the desert.
@spmamabearАй бұрын
@@curmudgeinnak The vintage woodstoves are gorgeous, but I do want something that'll heat the house. I live in a location where I don't have to have a stove flown in, so that makes life easier!
