I stayed there in 2018 and yeah there's a lot of security. It was called Resorts World Manila back then and you had to have your taxis checked for bombs and bags x-rayed before entering. There was also a lot of extra fire suppression equipment. Turns out there was a huge attack and fire in 2017. It was thought to be terrorist related but investigation showed the motive was robbery. Unfortunately 38 people died.
