The Horticulture Service, Training, and Innovation Centre (STIC) aims to provide top-tier skills, services, and disease-free horticulture planting material, with a vision to expand market share. Operating under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, Rwanda Polytechnic (IPRC) Huye and GIFT Rwanda Ltd focuses is on generating high-quality graduates, creating employment, and supporting cooperatives and small-scale farmers. The centre, operational since early 2024, strives to link academic research with the farming community, ensuring the sustainability of commercial farming in Rwanda. It also emphasizes business development through the production and sale of clean planting materials and other commodities for both local and international markets.
This project is part of the Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP) which is funded by the Netherlands’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs and managed by Nuffic.
This institutional collaboration project is part of MSM's Expert Centre on Emerging Economies. The department is an expert centre on local economic development in emerging and developing markets.
