Experiencing the True Paradise at SAii Phi Phi Island Village

This trip had initially been planned for April of 2021 but due to the pandemic had to be postponed. Thankfully, everything fell back in place for us to go December of 2021. Going to Phi Phi Island was always a dream after watching the 2000 film The Beach so many times through the years. 21 years later it was happening and well worth it.
We still had the airline credit with Air Asia and with careful planning we were able to book the flight. After much research from reading Conde Nast Traveler’s the Reader’s Choice Awards for resorts and seeing many KZbinrs, big name and small name having chosen Saii Phi Phi Village as their choice of where to stay while on Phi Phi Island. The service provided from Phuket International Airport to SAii Phi Phi Island Village was such a smooth transition that compensated for a bumpy ride due to some storms in the area causing the water to be a bit choppy. We were warmly welcomed with nice coconut and pineapple drinks. We loved our stay as you see, the resort is beautiful with the majestic cliffs to the back covered with greenery and the blue and turquoise ocean in front of us. The beach fronting the resort was fabulous pools at opposite ends of the resort provided options besides the ocean to cool off. The breakfast buffet was wonderful giving Thai and western options plus an array of choices to satisfy any diet. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The bungalow we had was natural looking from outside and modern and lovely inside that was very clean. The resort has guests download their app in order to communicate with staff and schedule activities. The app helped but called too to just make sure our bookings were confirmed. Think the pandemic made me more paranoid to verify bookings. The added bonus was the activity center that made our boat tours to Maya Bay and other points of interests hassle free and our boat guide was so friendly and knew a lot about the islands. His longtail boat was so nicely maintained and he did a lot even being our personal photographer to snap amazing pictures we will share on social media and cherish forever. There is also a small village just outside the resort to buy food and souvenirs. We went there for dinner twice. Hands down this is the best place to stay on Phi Phi Island.
I had also accumulated a sufficient amount of Ultimate Reward points through my Chase Sapphire Reserve to book one of the 3 rooms. I must reiterate that having the Chase Sapphire Reserve has saved us a good amount of money on our trips and I recommend this credit card as the benefits outweigh the cost every year.

Aloha Arpita Patra.happymom, I hope you can stay at Saii Phi Phi Island Village Resort as it a great place to stay. We arranged transportation directly through the resort as we didn't want to do all the legwork and research to figure out all the logistics etc. especially as we were coming from Khon Kaen. As the resort picked up us at the airport with vans that brought us to 7/11 to pick up some snacks and drinks and then to the pier that had a boat waiting for us, very easy. However, on the way back to Phuket we did book with a gentleman who owned the restaurant in the village outside the resort. He owned a speedboat that he books for travelers. It is definitely cheaper then what the resort charges but for us, it was easier to book once we were on the island and could shop around and talk to people. If you are staying in Phuket first then going to Saii Phi Phi Island Village on a following day, I think it is easier to book and shop around town for a private boat charter to Saii Phi Phi Island Village. Also for September, The rainy or 'monsoon' season in Thailand occurs between July and October. I still think it is hit or miss as we went outside the rainy season in December but we did have rain when we arrived to Phi Phi Island that afternoon, but it cleared up later that afternoon too and it was sunny the next 2 days.
