Y'know I went to a environmental summit and caught Steve and I was literally sick for three weeks. It felt like I had strep throat, but with a fever that kept me delirious for some days. There's an entire week of my life that I don't remember because I was so feverish I was out of it. I do, however have several texts where I told my family I wanted chicken nuggets. You know, I’m glad I’m not the only one who decided to continue to wear a mask after getting the virus. When I had Steve I actually couldn’t sleep flat as I was so congested it was blocking my air ways and my body forced me to cough to get them clear. So not to have coughing fits every hour and actually get some sleep I had to sleep sitting up. Not a position I liked, but I was so exhausted that I slept that way anyway. And after it took me a month to build up my endurance, as I was getting exhausted quickly. I never want it again. So yes, if there is people, there is a mask on my face.

I’m still going through Steve’s visit. It’s 1 am. And I can’t sleep because of congestion and coughing. I can hardly taste anything and the only way I feel ‘normal’ is laying in bed. Not to mention at night burping up nasty stuff 🤢 and the occasional fever, feeling like I have a brain slug from Futurama sucking on my brain… it’s not fun. Steve is the worst roommate to have. I have to lay down at an angle too. Blarg. On the bright side my mom has Steve too, so now at least I don’t have to strictly quarantine. I can get my own beverages and such now when I have the wherewithal for it.

My husband's name is Steve, Lol. On a serious note, I had gotten "Steve" twice. Once in November 2021 and on 4th of July 2022. Both times felt the same, I was miserable for the first 5 days. Then I started to feel better, but had an annoying cough for about a week and a half. The symptoms started the same, sore throat with a migraine. The only lasting side effect is that I feel that I can taste chemicals in certain food now and it's very off-putting. I am already picky and this has just made it worse. Cool video. I haven't gotten visited by Steve yet, but my mom got to know him last week and he brought her nice toys like a really bad headache, a bit of nausea and feeling achy and really tired. Luckily she's better now, also I told her that she was in many ways lucky because she works in a preschool in Steve's favorite visitation spot in Norway and it still took her two years and five months before Steve visited her specifically. I'm happy that Steve still haven't felt like me and him should become friends and crossing my fingers it stays that way or that if he ever visits, that he just brings cold symptoms and is really nice and leaves quickly also.

Steve found my group and I after Go Fest Seattle. I even sanitized the hotel rooms/cleaned everything with cleaners I brought with us because similarly I avoided it this far dang it. We think we caught it from an asymptomatic person at the tournement night after finding out on twitter someone tested positive the next morning. I was about to relate to the salty taste so much, my taste went and now almost a month later everything still tastes salty! Fruits, soda, even some waters all taste salty. Scent is almost back but coconut still is smelling the weirdest!

I remember getting sick with Steve. I literally just started a new job at a car wash, not even a full week only four days in and boom I was sick. But the car wash was willing to work with me in that they'll give me two weeks off with pay, so long as I came back of course. Well during the two weeks I got a call back from a job I really wanted to work at, Cabela's called asking if I wanted an interview but while I was still in quarantine. I told them I was sick and that I'd be willing to come in after I got better, they agreed and sure enough when I was better I immediately went to Cabela's and got the job. No point in this story outside of it helping me land a fun job.

I have yet to catch it and I’m grateful for that. Not so much for myself, I’m fairly sure I would have my usual asymptomatic reaction to getting sick in general but because I currently live with my not able bodied parents. I do not want them sick. They are very at risk. Not as much as my grandma with her complete lack of an immune system (cancer treatment) but still not good. I live here exactly because they need help. We managed to get through everything so far without them or me getting sick but with people treating Covid lightly again, especially in our area, it’s not been so great. My nephew and siblings have all gotten it, even recently. My brother got it twice in fact. I really wish I could help them but I ended up having to stay out because my parents needed me more and everyone agreed that none of us wanted to risk my parents. So mostly it came down to my parents making sure my brother got regular deliveries and a friend, who could take the risk and was fully vaccinated, stayed over with brother since brother got it pretty bad when he had it (104°F fevers, yeah, dangerous). My 5 year old nephew was also quite miserable when he had it and it broke my heart to see when he would video call. He is fine now. Everyone is that got it. We are all also fully caught up on vaccines and have actually all worn masks strictly ever since this thing came into the world, but some jobs of some of us put us in enough contact with stupid people that it was just a matter of time before one of us caught it. I’m still just hoping my parents get out of this Covid thing having never caught it. I’m glad they have been lucky though. They were easily able to work from home when lockdown first hit and we have had plenty of groceries and food that the shortages weren’t too bad for us (we were even in a position to send some over to siblings’ households to help them). Pretty much I’m the only one who had to put stuff off because I was trying to go to school to get my nursing assistant certification and classes were obviously cancelled for lockdown. My family and I decided it was best I wait until vaccines were developed before trying to attend classes again and go job seeking. So I had a delay of life plans there but it’s worked out and I have that certification now. I didn’t want to risk my parents’ health anyway. They really are at high risk, just below those with no immune system at all, but still bad. That’s my experience with Covid at least. Just a matter of safety precautions and lucking out so far.

I was lucky and only tested positive for it for about a week, but the first day and a half I was so dizzy I could barely do anything, and the post-Steve exhaustion hit me like a tonne of bricks. So like, Steve only only stayed in my life for a short time, but a I spent a week or so on high alert and masking in my own home trying to avoid him, and then I spent nearly all of July recovering from him, while everyone else in the house was also sick.

One of my bosses at the hospital who’s kitchen I work for had all 4 shot and flu shots to keep from getting Steve but ironically she got Steve soo bad she had to go to hospital and was out of it for weeks before she could come back to work (the shots don’t seem to have helped her at all and she had all 4 of them AND flu shots ) Meanwhile I ended up with the grossest cold no one wants to get and trying to find a available Dr in Australia during this time while we’re going through winter (while other parts of the world going through summer) is rather difficult thing to do but I had to and had to take rat test just to prove it’s a cold or flu for the Dr as well; I just had so much mucus it was crazy but I learned that Steve doesn’t have you producing mucus like cold & flus do but you better still go to the Dr and take medicine for that being as that’s not good enther
@niedas34262 жыл бұрын
Have you considered the possibility that the shots DID help her? This is like seeing someone getting seriously injured in a car accident and then saying "well that seatbelt doesn't seem to do anything". Not that we can know anyways what would have happened if she hadn't had the shots, but I'd bet some good money she'd be dead without them if it got her that bad while being double boosted.

I was still out of town when the first of the symptoms hit me, I was tired, sniffly, and feverish....but I still went out to eat because I had my taste/smell/appetite. I infected my unvaxxed mom because of that but thankfully she is fine. The only potential event I missed was a concert that weekend that I didn't know was happening til like 2 weeks before my actual trip. But I missed out on work for a total of about 17 days (between the trip and still being positive) and I am still recovering financially from that because I had no PTO! So I feel this.

Omg. I'm laughing and crying so hard bc this was me just less then a month ago. Got it during a family reunion and I had to quarantine in the basement of my aunt's house until it was time to go home. I had to travel back with mom we wore masks the whole time driving but she started to get sick but still negative. She got checked out by the doctor and it truned out to be bronchitis (shes a RN she got it 2 times already so we assume she was unaffected at this point) anyway, while there I wanted to die. I just felt like crappiest crap in the world, the bed was uncomfortable as hell, I had the wrost chills of my life yet always hot with fever. I was lucky that i didnt lost my smell or taste, but my throat was so sore and raspy that almost a f***ing month later I'm still recovering over. I'm talking better it gets sore at the end if the day but I can't sing still. Im not a great singer but I still love doing it but I still can't sing fir over a month and its getting depressing. It's better but still.... the painful part was bc I was away from home I had none of the things that make my feel comfortable better. My ONE encounter with Steve was right before (and during) San Diego Comic Con. I was coughing and a bit sniffy one night, and to make myself calm, I tested myself. My Mom walks out and breaks the bad news. And I was fine, apart for this ONE night. Oh my god, this night was the worst I’ve ever felt in years in terms of sickness. I was shaking and shivering, both of my nostrils were near completely clogged, my head was getting to migraine levels of pain, my throat was scratchier than ever, and I had what I call “Heat Waves,” which is when you get a, well, wave of heat all along your body. I could not sleep for 3 hours straight before I finally caved and took some Alleave. Let me tell you, that sh*t is magic. Within 1 hour I felt completely normal. From then on, it was about as bad as your average cold. But that one night will never be forgotten.

When I caught Steve I had cold like symptoms but with a weird twist tomatoes which for me doesn't usually have a smell had a pungent cleaning solution type smell which made me want to puke when eating hotdogs, sandwiches, burgers and salads. Just say I stayed strictly on a non-tomato diet. And when I caught it again I sniffed a squirt of ketchup before using the test and I smelt the pungent smell and tested positive. And this only happens with Steve and I have no idea why. One upside was that I enjoy chicken nuggets without ketchup so I was able to eat as much as I wanted with Steve.

I also lost my sense of taste for few days and didn't get my smell back for few months as for now I have everything back but some things like toothpaste or eggs have a really weird taste for me I can't desribe it but don't recomend.

Steve hit me probably not long after this video came out. The first few days after testing positive were pretty nasty, although my senses weren't affected. I had no energy to do any work despite working from home, so I just took the free medical leave. The cough that came with it, though, lasted for exactly a month! I even did a TB test because I thought I might have caught that (thankfully that wasn't the case). I was also given some pills to combat Steve, and I took them, but I hated every time I did, because it changed my sense of taste for a few hours every time.

My friends say I must be immune to Steve because I worked in a Steve test site where Steve positive people coughed on me daily and I wore minimal PPE and I never caught Steve.
@kat85592 жыл бұрын
you very likely spread it unknowingly to vulnerable people.
@sarahkat6502 жыл бұрын
@@kat8559 I am a vulnerable person technically my lungs are crummy. I wore my mask and didn't go out in my work clothes. So no I'm probably not some Typhoid Mary. I'm simply lucky. The people I was most likely to infect, my immediate family, never got it either.

🥲 he got me and my fam..family... via my stepsons going back to public school... thanks boys... NOT. It sucked... I almost had to go to the hospital... my oxygen dropped pretty low. I had to do lung exercises and take inhaler... my son also had to take inhalers. My husband just said it felt like bad allergies for him 🥲... we both were vaccinated and due for our booster literally the day after we caught it 😅. We still got it mildly compared to some of our family. We sadly lost my grandmother and great uncle (they got it together and passed a day apart in the hospital....) an few other people we know. So we're still trying to be careful. I don't go anywhere 🥲 I have agoraphobia now... thanks Steve!

I caught Steve twice, and both times me and my family were being careful and responsible, and i felt terrible for the first few days and then i was fine. But now I run out of breath easily so yay! Thank you Steve, I have always wanted to run up the stairs and be panting on the ground after ;-; Thank you for the long term symptoms. HAVE MERCY STEVE I'M JUST A KID At the moment of writing this comment I'm sick, and the breathing problems are not helping, so that's great -_-

I rarely get sick at all and I have never gotten Steve either! I’m very lucky because it won’t be good for me. I have type 1 diabetes so I’m on the risk list. So I have to be careful when going out and all that. I’m glad that you are better! 😁

I caught Steve recently from (I'm pretty sure) the job I had left less than a week before due to my concerns about their Steve protocols plus a bunch of other issues. I had the exact same experience of my test turning positive almost instantly and bright red on the next day. I felt terrible since my dad who was visiting caught it from me, and then my grandpa caught it likely from one of the two of us (I live with my grandpa). It's unclear since he got it after my dad did by a few days and I was carefully wearing my mask the moment I tested positive and my dad went home as soon as he tested positive. I tested positive for about 11 days.

Lol, Steve ransacked my household recently. I was last on his list. If I was going to get visited by Steve I'm glad it happened after I was boosted and Steve-medicine was developed. Out of everyone I definitely suffered the least and the government paid for 5 days off so I could literally stay home sleep take meds and go back to sleep. It was a glorious luxury I'm sure I'll never get again. Took a while for me to completely recover my stamina, but otherwise it was like a really bad cold.

My partner had been sick for about a week, and after 5 negative tests we were just 🤷♀️. So I was working and had been wearing a mask JUST IN CASE I was carrying whatever bug he had. I told my coworker that he was sick but tested negative 5 days in a row, how I felt fine but would leave if I felt any sort of symptom... Well I get this tickle in my throat, so I do a quick sanitization of my work area and I go home. I also called the house keeping department and tell them to a disinfect where I was working a second time JUST IN CASE. Yeah, the moment I walked through my door I felt like death. I had the shakes, the dizziness, the cough, the fever, the aches... every symptom, included the lesser known symptom, feeling like I had an ear infection. So my mother in law drops off some more rapid tests and we do them, immediately my partners is positive and like yours, I had that feint line that also showed I was positive. It was the worst week...

My positive test result came back right away. No denying it. I'm now on day 7 with Steve living rent free in my house. Everything tastes either of nothing, or like moldy meat. Hacking/coughing all the time, the feeling like I have a brain slug from Futurama sucking on my brain... And I'm barely able to do anything beyond my bed. I had a video appointment with my doctor and had a coughing fit mid-congested conversation. Steve is like the worst room mate. The only good thing is that I can watch all the TV I want right now.

I got Steve 3 weeks ago and it wasn't as bad as yours. I felt the fever at school then got to go home. Yay! However, when I got home, the fever magically disappeared. It took me 6 days (Tue-Mon) Second day-fifth day I only got a cough and sore throat cuz of the cough. I pretty much felt fine by then. :) 😀😷😷

When I caught Steve, I was coughing to try to clear my airways, couldn't sleep on my back (one time woke up and I couldn't breathe and thought I was dying, there were spots in my vision, and I had a lot of trouble staying upright). I recovered in about a week, and haven't recovered from the after effects. I get tired way more easily, I am in more pain (on top of a pain disorder).

I actually got steve this March, first fatigue got me, then my throat started to bother me, then my nose clogged up with snot, and basically was almost bedridden all day because I was simply too tired to do anything, and also didn’t help the fact that I was taking certain medicines that would absolutely knock you right out. But yeah, felt like a bad cold with a few extra symptoms like extreme chills. Second week wasn’t that bad ether, my nose wasn’t as clogged, but now I was coughing so much it was hurting my throat and lungs. And 3 days later I was finally negative. But still stayed inside just to be safe and not spread it again. Oh! Yeah and I also forgot to say that throughout the entire time of being sick, I still had my sense of taste, and it’s obvious I couldn’t smell because it was absolutely clogged up

Earlier this summer I went to a chamber music camp at a college. A faculty members little toddler baby got it and spread it to basically all of the faculty. One by one our teachers didn’t show up to aid in our quartets. My last day of rehearsal we didn’t have anyone come into our room and we just played by our little selves. On the last day I woke up and went to go brush my teeth and all of a sudden I couldn’t see. I sat my tiny little butt down in the communal dorm bathroom still not being able to see. I spit out my toothpaste and somehow had the motivation to do my entire skincare routine? Idk by the end I couldn’t feel my hands and my vision was barely working. I put on a mask and went down two flights of stairs (even though there was an elevator?) and took a nap on a tiny little bench. I can barely fall asleep in my bed normally. I felt like actual doodoo but even if I did get tested I wouldn’t have been allowed to leave. I needed to tough it out for the concert. I warmed up in a random corner on the opposite side of the building from everyone else and held my breath whenever I saw someone. I went on stage and slayed in both of my songs and I did it all without spreading it to anyone 😘🤩💅. I was the only student that got it :) I look back at the KZbin video sometimes and just admire how colorless my face was. I don’t remember any of the concert. Apparently the second violinists bow broke at the end of one of our songs. Edit: I Couldn’t get tested until after the concert because my conservative dad would rather risk getting other people sick then waste his money 🫦💅🤩

My brother got me sick with Steve. The sickness itself was in my experience just a bad cold, but because of it I couldn’t go on the forging trip that was planned MONTHS before! That sucked more than the disease!

I Steve got to me, I was only out of it for a few days, but I still felt worse than I ever felt in my life, in terms of being sick. It was the first time being sick made me dizzy just from walking around. The dizziness was so bad that if I didn't sit down until I was feeling better, I felt like I would've passed out. Fortunately, I had some leftover candy canes from Christmas season. I searched online for home remedies that can treat nausea, and it said eating peppermint is effective, and it worked.
