Technically the “lava” is molten metal, and that diamond is probably glass, a diamond is compressed lava. Edit: you can only break a diamond with a diamond. And a diamond that size would be only affordable to bill gates. Diamonds form in the earth, and get expelled through volcanic activity. It just doesn’t add up that it would break when touching molten metal. And, finally, a diamond is not as transparent as that piece of glass was, as it didn’t reflect as much light through refraction and defraction.
