A patent with an A1 designation (behind the patent number) typically refers to a published patent application but not yet a granted patent. A B1 refers to a granted patent, indicating that the application has successfully gone through the examination process and met the necessary legal and technical requirements. So, if you have an A1, especially one a few years old, it is not a valid or granted patent.
