Good job spotting the Atmel EEPROM. Something else to consider on older cars is to replace those two large electrolytic capacitors on the board. They dry out and knock out the sensor computer. Same for the ECU, speedometer, and tachometer. Restored my 1995 Camry to full sensors/ecu/airbag/speedo, and leds for dash lamps. Hope this tip helps.

Great video! Question. After reseting srs module,does the airbag light go off automatically? Asking because i found a place to reset srs module and wanna make sure they did their job,not just they took money and gave my “blow” srs module back.

Great video. I don't have the equipment. Or more I don't know where I could find the right code to insert in (you can make an eprom read/writer using an Arduino) Here's to hoping I can find someone local to reset it without replacing all my airbags SMH.

quick question - With carprog can you not reset the airbag module without removing it from the car. I heard somewhere carprog can reset the module using the obd port.....?

Hello! I rear-end a car going maybe 35mph max, no one injured, very minor cosmetic damage, but all airbags deployed making it so my car would not move/drive/reverse at all. My question is do I have to have the airbags completely reinstalled for my prius to drive again or can I just have the codes cleared out, or do I just need to replace the sensors while not installing the airbags themselves? Thank you and I appreciate your response!

@@OpenHeartMinistry4 It depends on the car, my Versa was able to drive without the airbags being replaced or reset. Prius's traction battery disconnect in an accident, even a very minor one. Or the +/- lead shorted to chasis. Typically all cars shut their fuel pump off in rear end collisions as that is where the fuel pump is. You can't run the car without fuel, but if the battery won't even turn on, and pressing the brakes doesn't even give a response then you just need to have the traction battery reset. It should run without the airbags. But the airbag and airbag sensors circuitry on a Prius is worth more than the car itself. Unless you can find for dirt cheap at a junkyard you may be better off cashing out a total loss. At this moment you should take out the old deployed airbags and connectors regardless, as they are useless. The sensors may be salvageable though.

Thanks! So after everything, the only reason my car would not drive was due to the battery shutting off. It was jumped all night long and has been working great since. There is a ticking noise (kind of sounds like a fan) coming from the very front of the hood now after the accident so I'm just not sure what I am going to do about that yet.

@@OpenHeartMinistry4 Sounds like a bad relay or fuse to a part seeing as it started after your battery shorted/shut off. Universal relay switches are really cheap to buy online. You can switch out your relays for one and switch it on and see which part is causing the ticking. Which probably means it isn't getting enough power, or getting power and the part isn't responding. Or it could just be an oil pressure issue, timing chain issue. Even a suspension issue with the u joints or axle shafts. I wish you the best of luck in your vehicle repairs. I'm also almost done repairing mine myself, it's quite a process, I understand.

If it’s like my Nissan then no, the module isn’t going to know when you get into a crash so airbags won’t deploy. I need to get mine fixed

I recently replaced the clockspring on my Nissan versa 2012 (horn not working and airbag light flashing) and it works now. However, airbag light is still flashing and now the yellow traction control light is on. Don't know what the problem is. Had no accidents. Mechanic says it's the airbag module.

Do you have a scanner ? Try clearing the codes. .. or it could be the steering angle sensor. Maybe you moved it by accident and when you put it back on it triggered the traction light.

This issue has to do when replacing the clockspring, you cannot turn the clockspring around one bit. The steerinwheel and clockspring have to align as per factory specs..If its turned a little, it basiclly tells the abs sensor that there is something wrong with way your wheels are turned opposed to where the position of the clockspring.

The dot on top of the EEPROM above pin 1 will also designate pin 1 for you.

It’s 100 percent legal your not modifying or changing anything your just deleting the crash code

Hi, I saw in a You Tube the following: ''Hi Alec, Yes you are right for some models they don't need to be married, however for most models, generally speaking, these computers need to be programmed to the car.'' I have a 2008 Toyota Rav4 base model (2.5 liter) and by mistake both roof airbags deployed and both front seat retractors were activated. My questions are: - First, if I buy both used roof airbags and both seat belts with their retractor systems plus the SRS module from the same 2008 Rav4, will it work and will the airbag light go off? Will it need to be married to the rear seat belts and to the ECU? -Second, if I buy both used roof airbags and both seat belts with their retractor systems without replacing the SRS module, will it work and will the airbag light go off? -Third, will a good EBD2 be able to erase the codes from the existing SRS module in order to get the airbag light off? Can’t clear the crash on car with a scanner via obd must remove module to clear the crash and yes the light won’t clear until crash is reset

I have the two curtains deployed on my Ford Fiesta, to be clear, first I must remove the module and send it to reset, and I put the new curtains and that's it. I don't need to do anything else on the vehicle's computer. Thanks for your video

Get a virgin module read the bin file and compare the bin files.
