This is not only entertaining, but a great educational piece. One of my biggest challenges is minimally experienced guys wanting to take unnecessary risks, or cut corners in the name of (maybe) saving some time or effort. I'm not completely closed off to suggestions, but I spend too much time defending my plan from conflicting, more dangerous, ones from guys with less experience, and no pressure from the responsibilities of being a crew leader. I'd like to think that I've proven myself to be safe and efficient, but for some reason, so many crew members want to interject with conrner-cutting, or needlessly complicating operations with sometimes outrageous suggestions.

It’s definitely a challenge to work with folks who haven’t had as much experience. I hope this video helps! Thanks for sharing!

Exactly! So much time wasted by second guessing ground guys who you hired just to drag limbs and hold ropes. I do ask my guys opinions for sure, but it's really so they feel valuable and can possibly learn something.

24:48 the stealth missile attack is no joke. Reminds me of the time I got slugged in the chest by a grapefruit sized chunk of concrete when I was 50m away from the stump grinder and it knocked the wind out of me.

Note to groundcrew: Never, ever jerk on a rope attached to a tree for pulling. Either hold with steady pressure or pull with all your might.

That is very important!

Thanks for explaining! I work as a carpenter and often install windows. There the most critical height is round about 2 m ( 6-7 ft.). I've heard from people who fell out of the third floor with nearly no injuries but also from highly injured or dead one out of the 1st floor. Mostly because of lack of attention and/or too much confidence. Stay save everybody.
Looks like the guy at 10:15 did have the log fall on him. Looks like his right foot got pinned!

You might be right. It's kind of hard to see and then the video ends.

Hi Bino. A message from the U.K. We need to use a 2 rope system over here and then also a third lanyard for positioning. I’d love to see some of your advice and techniques on how to get around a tree using both SRT and DRT. Thanks

A little knowledge and a chainsaw is a dangerous mix. The video with the large trunk looks like they're an arborist company and should have known to use a port-a-wrap. Possibly a crew with no senior guy to keep the others in line. I'm just a homeowner, but I watched tons of videos by good arborists, bought books and professional gear and safety equipment before working on my trees. Also watched some videos like these to know what not to do. Love your videos, Bino!

Why did that first guy rig the top onto the bucket with a lift we would do small branches sometimes. The worst experience I've had I was running ropes and I was putting some wraps on the porta when my buddy cut a huge lead I couldn't get out from the tree because it was surrounded by hedges I was able to burrow myself under brush that thing would of took my head off or folded me in half.
