I thought it was intensely entertaining, though I am right-wing and can potentially be called a 'reactionary,' very much a political person, but do not believe that ramble was truthful. I don't even know if I totally agree that there's a tendency towards 'speedrunners' being 'far left.' If anything, since gamers tend to be male and males have a higher tendency towards being right-wing or conservative than females, the likelihood is that they're centrist or right-wing. If there's indeed a tendency towards speedrunners being leftist or far-left... frankly that would be interesting and I'd like to know why. I am doubtful that it is due to a desire to create a new niche of sexual attraction by creating the title 'best speedrunner' or something like that. The best I can come up with off the top of my head is that they believe more in obtaining instant or rapid gratification rather than to focus more on the long game and build things up over time, so they try to beat the game as rapidly as they possibly can to get that gratification of having beaten a game, but as quickly as they can, and they add on to that gratification by being proud of how expediently it had been done compared to how long it takes others. This can be compared to the more traditional view of things, of understanding that early on you generally start out slow and steady and invest in the future. Work on good grades in school, and if possible also work a part-time job at the same time to make money to put towards something important after school is finished. Consider dating girls, not because you want to smash but because you want a lifelong partner whom you will also be able to start a family with. Once school is over, either focus on working wherever possible to save up money or if possible go immediately into education for a practical occupation that will pretty much guarantee the ability to make good money in the future, like a trade. Carpenter, welding, scaffolding, crane operator, millwright, pipe-fitter, etc. Keep working to save money, for a good home for you and your wife, for a good and safe vehicle, for things for the baby(ies), for your child(ren)'s education, for preparing them for adulthood in their late teens and/or early 20s, and eventually save money to prepare for retirement. Then, going further, prepare for funeral expenses, not just for one's self but for other friends or relatives who will have to deal with the passing of a loved one. Which itself is another investment; community. Share your excess, be generous without any expectation to receive something in turn whether it be immediate or eventual. If hard times come, and pretty much everyone experiences hard times at some point whether it be financial or emotional or otherwise, the chances that those around you whom you have built long-lasting and generous relationships with will have a high likelihood of being there to help you. In a way, Marxism is the speedrunning way of life, the perspective that those who have not can simply take from those who have, those who have worked for a long time and have earned wealth, so as to get what you want immediately instead of having to actually work for it. Work towards a revolution that changes society, not towards improving yourself as an individual, and of course Marxism is far-left. Communism, socialism, all that cancerous bullshit that leads to the deaths of millions because Karl Marx called for changing society by force, essentially calling for violence, which makes Karl Marx a terrorist and explains why so much terrorism comes from commies. The amount of terrorist incidents conducted by communists in the Philippines are second only to one other group. One might call them the 'group of peace.' I suspect this is a localized Filipino example of a worldwide trend, that between those two groups, the Marxists and the allahu akbar crowd, the vast majority of terrorism is conducted. In the case of the Marxists, it's the desire for immediate gratification, to receive things that have not been earned. "Gibs me dat." I don't see these observations as reactionary, but as my best perception of what truth is or what truth may be. Truth is the only thing that matters, and if I discover that these words do not hold truth then I will reject some or all of them so as to find a more accurate representation of truth. Political correctness oftentimes requires the adoption of falsehoods and lies, which is why I've rejected the concept of political correctness years ago. Only truth matters, and as it turns out, it seems as though the speaking of truth is harmful to the left-wing narrative. This amuses me, though it also somewhat frightens me to think on just how many millions or even billions of people out there have adopted lies and falsehoods for their perception of truth either because they'd prefer not to accept the difficulties of reality, or far more pathetically and unthinkingly and selfishly, want to appear righteous and moral in their 'wokeness' because Marxist doctrine states that to be oppressed or on the side of the oppressors (woke) is to be moral and righteous and just. So point at the oppressors (White people, males, the wealthy, possibly Christians too) with scorn and look at those who point with you and know that you are with the moral and good and righteous and just. The last step is to listen to what Papa Marx says, and enact the "Forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions." After all, "You have nothing to lose but your chains," right? Those two quotes in the end, to my understanding, are directly taken from the Communist Manifesto. The combination of the two essentially states "Change everything because you have nothing to lose and nevermind the consequences." Peter Hitchens says he was a Trotskyist if memory serves, back in the '60s and/or the '70s. He admits that if he had the opportunity, the power to do so, that he would have done terrible things to people on the basis of the belief that his views were totally correct and that his views were moral even though he admits today that they were anything BUT moral. I believe Hitchens' perspective today is accurate, and that it is simply that those who still hold such Marxist or Leninist or Stalinist or I suppose also 'Trotskyist' views either haven't yet learned just how evil and immoral their ideology is, or they are aware of it but simply don't care and want to see everything burn because everywhere they look, they see oppression and injustice because there are people who have it better than them and that's not fair. Oh and speaking of Lenin, I don't know why people think he was a 'peaceful communist.' Research Lenin's Hanging Order, he was as violent and radical and murderous as the rest.

But I have damaged hearing because my dad put up the volume on things when I was a child because his hearing was going because he was a construction worker before ear protection was a big thing. But I do feel sorry for you.
