Hello! My 25-21 set arrived safe and sound from the Canadian Outdoor Equipment Company! Thank you! Thanks for coming through when all the American distributors failed!

Another big advantage is stability. No boiling contents perched precariously up on small canister or tripod base just waiting to be toppled by a wayward elbow or hand or unstable surface into your lap.

Thank you, seeing that cross-section was very helpful.

Thanks for sacrificing one of your stoves... Now I don't have to cut mine in half to see what makes them tick.

Everything tastes better made outside! I carry an isobutane and an alcohol stove at times...other times just one or the other.

These are great stoves, but I wish there was a better way to adjust the stove regulator cap while cooking. Any tips?
@TheCOEC6 жыл бұрын
Hey Woolengrappler - The best way to avoid getting burned in our experience is to use the pot grip: first remove your pot or pan, then twist the upper windscreen to to unlock and remove (you may need to hold/stabilize the bottom windscreen). You can then grip the sliding lid of the regulator and remove. It cools down quickly once off the flame, or we'll often adjust it while holding the sliding lid. Place it back on the burner, re-slot and twist the upper windscreen, and put your pot or pan back on the heat. The whole process takes less than 30 seconds. This is a safer way to adjust rather than reaching down into the upper windscreen to try to remove the regulator cap while the stove is in operation. Hope this helps.

Hi woolengrappler - the pot grip can be used to grab the simmer ring, either by reaching into the windscreen and grabbing it, or by removing your pot/kettle, taking the upper windscreen off, and then lifting the simmer ring with the pot grip. Hope this helps.

First, thank you for your explanation of how the Trangia stove works. Trangia themselves was no where near that informative or clear. Now to shed some light on the quasi-great mysteries of Trangia stoves: It’s pronounced more like ‘Tron he a.’ The G is silent. As for why brass especially when most of their cookware is aluminum, these types of stoves are sensitive to their thermal conductivity. Poor thermal conductivity means the stove will take too long to “bloom” and come up to operational temperature, thus more fuel is required for any task. Too high thermal conductivity risks the flame sputtering as the wick doesn’t have consistent flow. Brass happened to be a cost effective happy balance.
