It's deeply troubling that Taiwan's importance is often viewed solely through the lens of its semiconductor manufacturing industry, ignoring the profound significance of its people who live in freedom and democracy. History has shown that an exclusive focus on economic gains often leads to human suffering and disasters. When the pursuit of profit overshadows the value of human life and rights, the consequences can be catastrophic. It is this relentless prioritization of money over humanity that has been the true culprit behind many of the darkest chapters in our history.
@naervern21075 ай бұрын
Your motivations are good, but the scope should be much wider. I live in Scandinavia and despite countries here being called "very democratic" there's no constitutional right to referendums and the parliament is not a democratic structure. People have no say over laws and only vote for parties which in turn elect the legislators. People can't protest over a politician nominated by some party, who called for domestic t--rorism, yet most media will claim that these countries are "democratic heaven." Unfortunately, most people are not interested in actual peace, but in being above others in respect to some metric. I wish there were more people like you, Stanley.

It would take less than an hour to render the island effectively defenseless. By taking out radar and air defense systems, power infrastructure, air field runways, etc.. Bringing the population under control would take considerably longer, but their prime objective is that they need to be able to hold the Americans at bay for a period of time, long enough to set up their own defense of the island. Tactical nukes can render surface battle groups useless and would have to rely on land based assets and possibly submarine launched missiles for reinforcements. Manned aerial assets would have to fly long distances and have limited payload. Therefore, unless there are American troops on the island, I don't see why the Chinese can't take the island in quick order.

And if Russia couldn't gain air superiority despite supposedly having vastly superior air force in comparison to Ukraine and is still struggling to gain air superiority what makes think China gonna be a any better. "but their prime objective is that they need to be able to hold the Americans at bay for a period of time, long enough to set up their own defense of the island." Right and I suppose the US and its allies are gonna stand idly by to allow this happen lol. "Tactical nukes can render surface battle groups useless and would have to rely on land based assets and possibly submarine launched missiles for reinforcements." Yeah shut up kid. Its clear from this statement alone you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. China would never use nuclear weapons because then that would mean South Korea and Japan will get there own and also that would also set a precedent for the US to use their own and could potentially start a nuclear war. Not to mention consequences from the international community that would occur as a result that could potentially draw in other countries as well. Did you forget about Okinawa, aircraft carriers, and midair refueling "Therefore, unless there are American troops on the island, I don't see why the Chinese can't take the island in quick order." They are failing to take into account the Taiwanese years of preposition. Also the awkward Chinese military operational doctrine. They have never used carriers in real combat and just now are learning basic flight operations from carriers. The Chinese are also highly dependent on the USA economy and could severely reduce the effect of their ability to even holed Taiwan. The geographical location of Taiwan is also a big problem for the Chinese. There are only a few suitable amphibious landing site on the island and a few avenues of approach to the capital from those positions. Taiwan also has a robust anti air defense capability etc. we could go on and on but there’s a reason why China has not invaded Taiwan and only postures. If they fail in taking the island and holding it, that would have serious implications for the regime in China.

The entire United Nations officially acknowledges that Taiwan is a province of China. The U.S. is presently arming and stationing increasing amounts of troops on Taiwan while also actively encouraging its separatist government, all while claiming that they want to maintain the status quo. According to Lyle J. Goldstein, the Chinese mainland has been able to conquer Taiwan for a while now, and they could easily do so. They haven't because they are telling the truth when they say they want peaceful reunification. The U.S. obviously doesn't want this, so they are attempting to push China into a war. It's also important to note that the U.S. has incredible economic and military leverage over Taiwan, making them unable to make entirely independent decisions. Almost all of Taiwan's military hardware comes from the U.S., who must maintain and continue to supply much of it. But, more importantly, as former President Trump clearly demonstrated, the U.S. government has roughly $1 Trillion in Republic of China bonds which are still valid. In other words, the U.S. government can economically collapse the Taiwanese economy at any time.

Then, blackmail the US. If you respond to our invasion of Taiwan . . . 4. If the US responds, both the CCP and North Korea, will launch missiles with conventional and non-conventional (EMP) warheads attacking all US bases in the Pacific plus North Korea will attack South Korea to tie down US Forces there. 5. CCP Fifth columns will seize all tv and radio stations and inform the public to move to certain locations away from the coastal cities/beaches to hinder responding Taiwan Army units and to offer no resistance as, Taiwan, has surrendered.
