Fun facts about this animation: 1- When scout says he will put on the date himself you can see spy smile. I would like to belive he is proud of his son instead of being smug. 2- Soldier wasnt lying when he said they told him to teleport bread. Engie does tell him that he can teleport bread if thats what he wants to do before he dies but soldier being soldier takes it too literally and tps bread for 3 days. 3- While mercs are all rough and tough they geniuenly care for each other and even helped training scout. 4- You may see some mercs (sniper, heavy etc.) not speaking in some tf2 animations because the cast is so old (aside from scout) they couldnt come to the studio to voice thus silent characters. 5- You never see the sentry gun of the engineer fire because the tool used in tf2 animations (source filmmaker) is so old you have to MANUALLY animate its shooting along with muzzle flashes and its too much work (You can see behind the scenes of 'How it feels to play engineer' by LazyPurple for more info) 6- The dove lives because the bread monster is hollow and doesnt contain any innards

As others said, Spy is confirmed Scout's dad in the latest issue of the comic. Scout do not know about his real father, as the Scout was injured and near death so the Spy disguised as Scout's favorite musician before revealing the fact. On a side note, there is a reason for why Soldier is a complete idiot. In the older comics he was relatively normal and intelligent, if not a little unhinged. But as the issues goes on, he is written to be progressively more lunatic and brain dead. Until Miss Pauling revealed about the fact the water supply of the Badlands area where they lived have been contaminated with lead for years, resulting in the townsfolk being idiots. She warned the Mercs when it happened and told them to start drinking from bottled water from now on, and Soldier is the only one who didn't get the memo... Again, that was years ago.

"a little unhinged" = Soldier (aka. Jane Doe) has always been clinically insane, even way back in World War 2 when young Soldier tried to join the US army but was debuffed from every branch of the US military due to his utter insanity, functional illiteracy and bloodthirstiness. So he built himself his own makeshift rocket launcher and grenades and bought a ticket to Europe to "kill Nazis and Commies"... in 1949. Yeah... whoops. It took several years of Soldier killing what he thought was Nazis in Eastern Europe until someone managed to tell him the war had ended years prior in 1945.

"Story Of A Sentry" By Soimon (I think it was the first Saxxy winner) "Lil' Guardian Pyro" By Harry101UK (who also did some amazing portal animations, esp the original "This Is Aperture" made 10 years ago. he remade it this year, but worth watching the original first) "End Of The Line" By McVee (which was also semi official. Valve learned of it as it was in the works and teamed up with McVee and his team to make an official update to the game based on it with a new map and assets) there are many more SFM videos, even outside of TF2 worth checking out, but those are good starting points.

Miss pauling works for the administrator. Who is working with both RED and BLU, so that they are stuck in an endless war with each other. This is so she can steal all the australium Redmond and Blutarch have. Before the comics, Pauling wasn't really that active with the teams and was more of just a secretary to administrator (the first time you see Pauling is in a window in Meet The Medic, more of an easter egg really). But since the comics, she's become administrator's right hand woman. Making sure the mercs don't go to jail and other important background stuff.

Really liking your TF2 reactions and love to see that you get all the jokes. I don't know if you know this but the game has an annual ingame award for best SFM videos made which led to years of some of the greatest content ever made. In case you want to see more from the TF2 universe I really recommend you watch : Heavy is dead (deep philosphical thriller) Agent Gunn: Vulkanite (high budget moviefranchise that has lasted for decades) Attack on Heavy (cult classic from north-east asia) But there are plenty more incredibly well made pieces of art you can find. In any case keep the content coming and I hope you keep enjoying yourself.

You'll notice that MIss Pauling is colored Purple in a world where two sets of identical Mercs, colored Red and Blue, fight an endless war. The Administrator is also colored Purple in the comics because she actually owns both the RED and BLU teams. Miss Pauling is the Administrator's assistant btw.
