There are certain products that you just can't use far past the expiration date. Liquid makeup and pencils are a no no. The worst is you can avoid opening and using it so that it lasts longer and it will still mess up. That rule only applies to powder. There is however a way to have your makeup last longer and it means being cleaner than using a wipes. 1. You HAVE to wash your face like full on in the sink and air dry or pat dry with a clean paper. Do not use recycled paper! 2. Clean your applicators every time you use them and make sure it is thoroughly cleaned with absolutely no residue left behind. You can buy soap/cleansers that are especially for this, but I reccomend you use those brissled pads especially for this as well to really get into the difficult areas. Make sure you wash the pads before you wash your applicators, regardless of whether or not you keep it in a clean environment!! If you cannot afford the cleansers that are out there, use dawn soap. It's gentle and antibacterial so it does the job. 3. Keep your applicators covered. I know it's aesthetic to have them set out in the open but it's not clean. Do NOT keep them in plastics you can not clean just as well!! These things should be just as protected as your toothbrush! 4. Keep the compact your makeup is clean. This means every time you open it, wipe it down with an alcohol swab. If you feel like you have to wipe down the makeup itself, you can. It won't look pretty but rubbing alcohol does not mess up powdered makeup. You'll waste a little of it, but you waste a whole lot more not taking care of it. 5. Try not to take your makeup out wherever you go. I say this loosely because if you take it somewhere you can keep up with the cleanliness, it's fine. HOWEVER, a lot of people carry their makeup to touch up what's already on their face and in doing so, you are welcoming outside germs into your products because you're not going to wash your face thoroughly and reapply. As long as you step outside, the breeze alone has particles you do not want in your makeup so I can not stress this enough, do not do this. If you're worried about your makeup looking funky by the end of the day, use maximum hold hairspray. I kid you not, that stuff holds better than any setting spray on the market.

Great makeup information for those who didn't know! I trained in skin care & makeup ( cosmetology!) And learned a whole bunch also growing up in a Beauty salon! 1. If it smells bad don't use it! 2. Don't ever touch your products with your fingers! ( or dirty brush or spatula either. Q tips work in a pinch for facial creams etc). (Same for skin care products!) No matter if you just washed your hands!! Many cosmetics will last much longer if treated in this manner. Thanks for being honest & real with us, I appreciate it very much. Without saying and watching on video you can notice the new one a little, but I feel in real person it would definitely be noticeable. I can tell just by watching the video the difference of quality between the eyeliner, lipstick and the under eye concealer. It was actually interesting to see how different the make up is when in date compared to out of date, and I swear half of mine is like 3 years old, except the items I got this Christmas. But it is depressing, how little time you have to use make up before it deteriorates, especially as I have about 7 eye shadow pallets on the go at once.
