I can't remember the last time I watched every second of a 46 minute youtube video until I came across this absolute gem. You're a true inspiration, Miles. (Im also incredibly jealous of you aswell but shhhh)

You're such a down to earth person. ❤ Showing us the 15-pound camera you started your career with. I love it.

You have no idea how much your video is pure gold. Congratulation for your work, such an inspiration. I was starting to think it wasn't a thing to do film photography in sport nowadays; your video hitted hard on my bad thoughts. Moreover, that fact you encourage and share your experience in a video like this one while some others would have done money out of it... I wish you the best and thank you so much, you ignited something over there.

Hi! Thanks for this very interesting and informative video. I'd like ask about shooting hockey games. How did it differ from football? Did you have to use different film or settings or anything else? Is there possibly a video coming about that?
@ExpiredFilmClub10 күн бұрын
Hey! Very similar actually - the brightness of the ice illuminates the players pretty well, so I treated it much like a night football game settings-wise tbh

Hi! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I love your work and you were my inspiration to try and shoot the Sporting x Man City game on film! I got a disposable camera and tried my best lmao The photos turned out quite dark but it was still a great experience 😅 Hopefully I'll get one of your prints in the future ❤ Keep up the amazing work and keep sharing your incredible photos with the world xx

Fantastic vid! This is gold. I’m new with film. Was wondering you typically shoot at box speed at your matches? Or do you push or pull? Also would you mind sharing if you shoot full manual during the matches as well? Thank you!
@ExpiredFilmClub3 күн бұрын
Hey! Yeah always manual & always try to over-expose the film by a stop or two if possible. Typically want to keep shutter speed to 1/500 at least & adjust other settings from there!

Hi, are your clients ok with the 5/6/7 day wait time for the film to develop? How do you get round this hurdle? maybe you set expectations early that it takes time to develop the film. Thanks, and nice vid, really informative
@ExpiredFilmClub2 күн бұрын
Really good question! I always make sure to let the client know of regular turnaround times before the shoot to manage expectations. Luckily, everyone mostly knows it’s part of the deal! I’m also lucky to have a working relationship with a lab, who do everything same day for me which is a huge help!

I know what his secret is, he’s polite. Insanely polite. Stub your toe? He’ll apologise on the tables behave.

🤣🤣 politeness is good, but you also have to stand up for yourself in certain situations if you need to!
