With Phase 1 of campaigning over - one thing is clear - there is no 'wave' for any party or alliance .... there is no emotional pull towards the BJP like after Balakot. With a poor performance report-card - the BJP seems to be slipping back to its old formula to use Religion as a crutch. Only problem is that the Representation of People Act, 1951 makes this clearly illegal - something that the Supreme Court reiterated in 2017 via a 7 member bench. Yet its the religion card all over again.

Corruption is present in the INDI alliance as well as Congress when it was in power was involved in a lot of corruption scandals like 2G spectrum scam, coal scam, etc. So why BJP is only targetted for corruption? When the real issues of good governance record is more important than the singling out of corruption only in BJP. And there was nothing dictatorial about what BJP did as the agencies that led the investigation of corruption allegations against opposition parties are independent from political influence nor are they motivated by political ambitions

@@Bharatmatters-yi7ji cause it’s a guideline in the model code of conduct that none of the political parties shall use religion or our soldiers as a means of asking votes during elections unless the guidelines are only meant to be followed by the opposition parties?? It really doesn’t matter what is written in the manifesto,a guideline in the model of conduct is a mandate that has to be respected & followed by every political party!The ruling party should be actually setting an example for the others by following the guidelines provided by ECI in the model code of conduct!
