India in 1962: Hey Nepal! we are fighting a war with China and since your military presence in Kalapani and nearby bordering area is minimal, can we station around there for the period of war to monitor Chinese movement? Nepal: Sure, we have the best of relations and if it helps in your defense, why not? India: Thank you. we are establishing 18 military camps in Nepali land bordering China. Nepal in 1969: Hey bro! the war is already finished but your camps are still around, could you withdraw your forces? India: Okay! (removes 17 posts, but remains in Kalapani and controls Lipulekh area because it is strategically too significant to monitor China) Nepal: Kalapani? India: (to then King) Don't forget you are economically too dependent on us, also we can seize you from power by using the revolutionary forces. You remain quiet, you aren't using that area anyway. Nepal after democracy in 90's: Hey bro! now we are a democracy and we now have access to historical evidences and facts, could you withdraw the army and settle the issue as the land is on the east side of river Kali? India (Under Gujral and Bajpayee): Okay lets solve this and all other border issues with help from experts. (Experts reach on agreement in 98% border area except Susta and Kalapani area, recommend it be settled on high political level, remains an outstanding issue) India in 2015: Hey China, wanna trade from Lipulekh and make Mansarovar quickly accessible? China: Okay! Nepal: But it's our territory and we have been claiming it all along? (sends diplomatic protest to New Delhi and Beijing). Hey bro (to India) let's solve the issue first among us before any agreement with third party. India: Ok then, No official visit for your PM Koirala (first time a Nepali PM does not make an official visit to India) and a blockade! India in Novemeber 2019: New Political map released (8th edition) with Kali river marked well inside it's territory when it should be a border. Nepal: Yo bro! You say East of Kali is Nepal but it is well inside your territory on the map? India: Oops! (9th edition is quickly released with river's name erased) Nepal: Let's solve it with foreign secretary level talks, there is pressure from general public after the blockade. This way the relation is only getting worse. India: We don't care, you are too dependent on us. ( Inaugurates the road during Covid-19 pandemic, despite the construction not being completed and with presence of high level Military and Defense personnels) Nepal: Come on! at least sit down and talk before doing things unilaterally! Indian Army chief: China has made Nepal speak. Indian Media: Nepal ki ye aukat ki wo India ko aankh dikhaye, Inhe fir blockade karna chahiye! Nepal: Ok then we'll issue our own map with disputed territory (Will benefit the increasingly unpopular Oli govt as well as address public outrage due to India's consistent big brotherly attitude) Indian Media: China, China, China, China!

Next about the border issues heating up. Please go through google map and see the road that was built. I don’t want to prove Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura belongs to Nepal because even a lay man has access to the internet nowadays. India has changed Mahakali river map 3 times itself. All the history and proofs are there. Only Indian prime minister #PmModi ,his diplomats and policy makers might not understand the truth. Not just that much, Darjeeling, Sikkim, kumaon and Garhwal belongs to Nepal. They are indispensable territories of Nepal. Those territories has been colonized since 1816 by British and is under Indian colonizations 1947 onwards. We demand India to return back all Nepalese territories. Colonialism has ended. Several countries in the world got their independents including India. But the same colonial country, India, who fought for indipendens with British is colonizing large areas of Nepal. What does, “शत्यमेव जयते” mean? Will India even able to justify, that, it was the right time to inaugurate roadways in Kalapani? That has been clearly marked, as a disputed area between Nepal 🇳🇵 and India 🇮🇳? The whole world 🌎 is suffering from corona virus🦠. India 🇮🇳 is facing the grave danger. India is the worst nation hit by pandemic. Millions of migrant workers in India are marching back to their home, miles and miles away. 1000s are dying on the way with hunger. Economy is crumbling down in it’s lowest. What does Indian government want to show at the time of global solidarity? Indian government acts are not justifiable. Is this neighborhood first policy of mr #Modi? If, still, India want to show it’s muscles, think twice before It’s too late. What will India gain if it loose a friend like Nepal? Specially at the time, when India might be in need of a real and helpful friend, the most! India is already in war with China and Pakistan at several fronts. 20+ of Indian soldiers are killed by Chinese in Indian border. It’s not wise to add Nepal in the same list and loose more than 50,000 brave soldiers from Indian National security force, The Gorkha Regiment. If Nepalese become enemy, they will become the worst. May be much worse than India now can imagine. Indian clearly knows, Gorkhali are never afraid of death, by birth, they are a soldier. A country called Nepal is in this planet 🌎 from the time of God. All Indians knows. But the world have seen today’s India only from 1947. Stop playing #BigBrother’s role. And Leave Nepal’s colonized land as soon as possible. #backoffindia.

This is the greatest error. If we assume article 8 prevails and cancels 1816 sandhi than India should peacefully handover all the Nepalese land that Nepal lost to British.(From Tista to kangada). Remember how Goa was handedover to India. Nepal lost those land to British India not to "India". So India should have returned land to Nepal after British left the country. As many did in comments below, your bringing the death of Indian national near border is totally irrelevant, biased and incendiary, and does anything but to help to resolve the issue peacefully. That incident happened far away from disputed border, and you're coinciding the deployment of APF by Nepal and the incident in such a manner that all can see no more than an attempt to provoke people's sentiment. If you're doing any responsible journalism, you need to present the fact as is without distortion, do more research on the topic and inspire more amicable solution to the issue given the current volatile situation in the region. Truth prevails.

#Article 8 of the Peace Treaty of 1950 has declared #Sugauli Treaty to be null and void which means 60,000 Sq km of Nepali land ceded to Britain must be returned to Nepal according to the international law. India on the other hand has never respected the sovereignty of her smaller neighbours and keeps on hurting the sentiments of Nepalese and the gurkhas (who are recruited from Nepal to seven different regiments of Gorkha Rifles in the Indian Army). India should never forget their past during 200 years of British Raj. India must respect the sovereignity of all her smaller neighbours. They should know the sovereignty of all the nations are equal whether they are geographically big or small. The ego of feeling of being a powerful nation will eventually destroy India if it continues hurting, provoking and torturing its closest neighbour. * Joker Firstly, we Nepalese genuinely have no problem or hatred for india citizens. the problem is only with indian modi government to be very specific which is fair enough for blockade and dominance over small country where there is roti beti sambandh.. Secondly, I have seen many comments in social media where indian citizens are saying we take islamic country like Pakistan as our genuine friend which is so incorrect. neither we have open border like with india nor we have any access to their culture or traditions. Thirdly most of the indian citizens thinks that we stay in China's lap or some other shit. but the fact is modi government created gap between our good relation with blockade, political interference, interference while drafting constitution, border capture and so on. china just fill that gap as we all know that china is pure business man. Lastly indian people will say that the blockade is not done by indian government. to them please check video on KZbin where opposition party of india themselves spoke against this blockade. I’m sorry i forgot name of that politician but you will find them. Dexter Kuaji Pure lie from indian side. They annexed territory disputed by Nepal in new map. India exposed its expansionist ideology to occupy parts of Nepal by releasing a revised map that showed Kalapani, a disputed territory, as a part of India. This move was to test Nepal's resolve and how much courage it has for its conviction that the territory belongs to Nepal. Nepal immediately objected. Kathmandu subsequently called India for settling the boundary issues on the disputed regions of Kalapani and Susta and has been urging India ever since to settle the matter. At this, the Nepal PM had also offered to send his special envoy Madhav Nepal for sorting out the issue, but India refused to meet him. The crisis deepened earlier this month, 8 May, when Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated a shorter route, which is going to be motorable, to Kailash Mansarovar for Indian pilgrims. The road connects Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh with the Lipulekh Pass - which Nepal considers as part of its own territory - at the India-China border. After learning India's true aggresive and occupational intentions, Nepali Prime Minister Oli had no coice but to defend Nepal's sovereignty and upon thorough deliberations with security advisors, his government decided to stand up to Modi's aggressive India because appeasement does not serve an aggressor. Nepal decided to react Tit-for-Tat and officially unveiled a new political map showing Kalapani, Limpiyadhura and Lipulekh as parts of Nepal. Portions of these areas are considered by India as its territory. The Nepalese government reportedly moved a constitutional amendment bill to revise the map in their national emblem, which has since been approved by the parliament. In this way, the tiny but brave nation of Nepal has taken on an increasingly hostile aggressive India to task, which raised havoc in New Delhi - which under Modi's hindutva superiority agenda was blinded and dellusional of its make-believe power status after having been pampered by Trump's USA to contain China's rise. Chitra Dhungana I am indian and i think india should not be careless or agressive in such a sensitive matter i e land ownership. Economic blockade was our mistake and let this step should not again be reponsible in pushing nepal towards china more. That small chunk of land is not worthy than our bilateral relationship. So, Nehru wrote letter personally to the then king of Nepal asking for permission to ground Indian troops there. After Indian troops occupied the land, they stopped Nepalese administrators from going there and carry out any tasks. So, please do research and put full information. India should respect to Sugauli Treaty 1816 between Nepal and British India. According to the Treaty, Nepal's western Border is Kalee River that frows from Limpiyadhura where Biggest tribut to Kalee River starts from and this tribut was called Kalee River in the MAP during the treaty signing time. India manipulated the river, Renamed the river, and rebuilt new Kalee River and new Kalee temple artificially in order to annex Nepalese Territory. India Should feel ashamed of it. Leave Nepalese territories and BACK OF INDIA. It is NOTHING to do with any other country but it is about Nepal's DIGNITY and SOVEREIGNTY. Nepal let India to use that territory during/after India- China War 1962 as a Friend. But India BETRAYED NEPAL ignoring to leave the Nepalese Territory since a long time. India ignored many time of Nepal's request. Nepal has border dispute with India, not only in Kalapani and Susta but 23 of 26 Nepalese districts that touches to India have border problem with India. SHAME ON YOU INDIA. There are two different of Nepalese who work in India. Nepalese origin Indian citizens who are from the territories when Nepal LOST to British India and Now these territories are in India. If you do not want these people, you must return all Nepalese territories that Nepal lost to British India but NOT to India because these territories have been occupied by India illegally because British India should have left these territories to Nepal but not to India. Another thing is, of course, Nepalese Citizens who work in India according to free movement between Nepal and India, there is also many INDIAN CITIZENS who works in Nepal too. India gets much more remittance money from Nepal than Nepal gets remittance money from India. It is NOT Nepal's interest to have free movement between India and Nepal because India has 1.3 Billion and Nepal has 29 millions. who will benefits most when there is free movement ??? Another thing is Nepal was NOT part of British India if you do not have any free movement between India and Bangladesh and Pakistan because you guys were parts of British India. THEN, WHY SHOULD THERE BE FREE MOVEMENT BETWEEN NEPAL AND INDIA ACCORDING TO NEPAL AND INDIA FRIENDSHIP TREATY 1950??? WE CALL IT VERY UNBALANCED TREATY THAT SHOULD BE NULLIFIED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. SAME TREATY NULLIFIED THE SUGAULI TREATY 1816, WHY HAS INDIA BEEN KEEPING NEPALESE TERRITORIES THAT LOST TO BRITISH INDIA ??? Nepali land is Indian land and Nepalis are Indian citizens from ancient times: In Vedic period, India's northern border had always been the mighty HIMALAYA, not the Nepal., because Nepal did not exist. Nepal was never an independent country prior to Islamic subjugation of India. During the Ramayana period (Indian Itihas) , you find Janki's father Janak ruling one of the Janpad VIDEH. VIDEH was the region from the Himalaya to Ganga and from Kousiki to Gandaki. There was not any Nepal at that time. Janaki Mata (a historical figure and Hindu icon) was an Indian, not a Nepali. She was always addressed as Janaki or Videhi or Maithili and never as Nepali in Valmiki Ramayana. During the Mahabharat(Another Indian Itihas), Pandavs went to retire in the Himalaya, not in Nepal as it did not exist. The Mahabharata War was an Indian Civil War for the throne of Hastinapur kingdom. Kings from different parts of the Indian subcontinent participated in that Civil War as Indian kings. Yes India was ruled by small kingdoms or Janapads, but in a bigger political sense they were all interlinked internal states of BHARATA(India), not as if they were independent sovereign countries. Travel records, Trade records, expansion of Hinduism and Buddhism, ancient literature provide clear evidence of this fact. Current Kathmandu was the part of VIDEH janapada during the Ramayana period and of the Vajji during Mahabharat. Nepal was not a separate sovereign country in the long known history of India. It is a recent event, which does not make sense. Every inch of Nepali land is Indian land. There should be peaceful political realignment to re-integrate Nepal into India. You ca

First u must know that there's only one treaty between nepal and British which is treaty of sugauli in 1816 and this treaty demarcated border as eastern parts of kali river is nepal and western parts is British India and tere is no other treaty. We all are aware that according to international border law both countries have to agree to define country borders in map. As I know that in kalapani region there was presence of India army in 1962 after Indo-China war. In that particular region it was under Nepal territory until 1961. And we have conducted elections in 1959, we have been collecting land revenue until 1960 in that region, we had conducted census in 1958 in that region and we have kept secure all this evidences. We are urging to Indian government for negotiation to resolve the issues however this issues are kept pending since very long time. Being good neighbour and being powerful nation India suppose to resolve all issues however India is publishing new political map and inaugurating road to Kailash Mansarovar. Now, we had published new political map of Nepal and Indiana media, politician, public are saying nepal is puppets of China. Let's come in the table and resolve the border issues. Indian policy makers should understand that Nepal is good neighbour country and we always stand in Indian side and keep always good relation with India than any other countries in the world.

WHEN WE DID NOT SIGNED ANY AGREEMENT ABOUT BORDER means it is border between Nepal and India is the Kali River that flows from Limpiadhuri. Mr anchor, there's something called research which most journalists do. I suggest you to do more research and report it at a journalist but first liberate yourself from the mentality of what India do is right.

Great that you have agreed that Limpiyadhura is the origin of river kali and so according to Sugauli treaty, the territory on the east of river kali belongs to Nepal. India claims river kali originates from a kali temple below kalapani where they have created a fake kali river by collecting water in a small pond and passing that water in a canal and claims that canal is kali river. What a joke India, what a shame.

We still want that area because that area most crucial for India's National security. Don't know how can any prime minister can give such a crucial area to any country 😩. May be he don't know the importance of that area. May be because at that time china was not neighbour of India, it was Tibet. When china captured Tibet it become threat to India even till now. But historically area is used by India since after sugauli treaty to trade with Tibet and pilgrimage to mt. Kalash before and after independence of India. River is looking starting point from kalapani not limpiyadhura in map. It will be biggest blunder in the history of India if that area gone out of hand to other countries ,the whole national security will be in stake. Kalapani region, galwan valley, dokhlam and Siliguri corridor are 4 most strategic crucial posts to secure India from china .

@@hemangshrivastava9561 We Nepalese know that part is strategically important to India but that does not mean that India can occupy it. Nepal let India stay there since 1962 without opposing much but what India did is started to claim as its own, making fake kali river and worse it did by provoking Nepal by including all of that area in its map in Nov 2019. Nepal issued several protest notes, asked for talks but India kept ignoring. The matter was worse when India inaugurated the road. For your reference about the kali river and the kalapani area look at the satellite images from google map.

Now the Nepali (Gurkha army) should be brought back to India. And you have to give a job in Nepal Army. Now there is also a need to mobilize the Nepal Army in Limpiadhura. It is also relative to time. Now is the right time for the ongoing border dispute between Nepal and India. According to Indian media, India has more than 1.4 million troops and Nepal has less than one million. Smaller and less populous countries than Nepal, Singapore and Cambodia have more troops than Nepal.

Better reporting, compared to yellow journalism practiced by most of Indian media. Indians are more aware of their media, to what level they can go for TRP. Only Issue is -- India has mentality that if it wants to do anything on border related issues, then it will go ahead, but, if Nepal has any concern, then it has to get agreement from India. Big brother attitude. These area were kept as status quo since both parties could not reach in agreement since 1990s. Then, in 2015 India and China signs treaty to do trade from this area, in June, 2019 India includes these area in its map, and now Indian government is making road over it. That is how problem started.

Why india keep on refusing to talk with nepal on border issue? Because india knows the fact that nepal have proof and india is scared of it.
@su2m86sp4 жыл бұрын
If the area truely belongs to india why havent india discussed the issue with nepal even though nepal seeks diplomatic talk(not that shitty debate with loud voice and not logic)? My grandpa travelled mansarobar through the kalapani area which clearly had nepalese citizens and population census was taking place then all of a sudden war broke out between china and india. War was over but since india knew the value of such land so they snatched it hoping handing rashan card would make a strong claim in future. If all official try to solve this dispute, it will go to nepal. Indian is therefore ignoring the talk. the reason is indian official clearly knows that the area belongs to nepal and they cant win the argument. So all they do is ignoring nepal officials and pay loud tv anchors to spread propaganda... clearly india is concerned about the fact that this might weaken their legitimacy about disputed area with china and pakistan. Thats what india gets when they play imperialism..
