To understand the story in EXO's "Ko Ko Bop" MV, you have to keep in mind that the story in "Ko Ko Bop" is connected to the story in their "Lucky One." MV. "Ko Ko Bop" may look trippy and crazy, but if you understand EXO's storyline you will see that everything was done for a specific reason. I can see how people might think that Ko Ko Bop is a drug they are all taking and that is why they are acting like they are high and kind of in a loopy drugged-like state. But to really understand what is happening in "Ko Ko Bop," you have to understand what is happening in their "Lucky One" MV. In "Lucky One" EXO has been captured by the Red Force who is doing experiments on EXO to try and figure out what makes them special, and to find a way to prevent them from finding and protecting the Tree of Life, etc. The members all use their powers to escape from the government facility and this is where theories say that the story in "Ko Ko Bop" picks up right after they have escaped in "Lucky One". The blue Ko Ko Bop drink that Suho mixes and the members drink, and the pills or wafers you see them eating, is supposed to be an elixir that is helping the members to detox from the drugs the Red Force gave them when they were being held against their will in the government facility in the "Lucky One" MV. The Red Force is represented by red light and red objects. Any time you see red that has something to do with the Red Force. Blue is thought to represent EXO. When you see purple these are instances where the line between the Red Force and EXO is blurred and the two sides are fighting for control, etc. -- red and blue mixed together makes purple. To see the choreo better you should show him a comeback stage performance of "Ko Ko Bop." As I am sure you know, the dance for this song is definitely worth checking out. According to SM Entertainment the story in "Ko Ko Bop" also shows the members soon after they have arrived on Earth and they are all experimenting with their powers. So in "Ko Ko Bop" you see Kai with the power of teleportation using his power to levitate and Suho with the power to control water jumps into the water and disappears, and later appears inside the washing machine, etc. You see Chen with the power of thunder/lightning/electricity playing with his power and you see Baekhyun use his power of light as he throws the ball in the air and creates that huge flash of light and Chanyeol uses his power of fire to create the fireworks when he bounces the ball into the sky. D.O. accidentally uses his power of strength/force and splits open the ground when he falls down, etc. Xiumin has the power of snow/ice/frost so he is using his power to create a cloud to fill the glass. Sehun uses his power to control wind to make objects float in the air. And, the car looks like it's driving by itself because they are using their powers to control the car, etc. Their unbridled use of their powers and the haphazard way they play with their environment around them can be explained by the fact that they were drugged in "Lucky One" and while they are still dealing with the drugs in their system, in "Ko Ko Bop" their inhibitions are lowered and they use their powers without caution. So part of their story goes: The members were trapped in the maze by the Red Force in "Overdose" and while they were trapped they were captured and moved to the government facility in "Lucky One" and after escaping in "Lucky One" we see them detoxing in "Ko Ko Bop." However, since then, we now have "Obsession's" part of the story where we have discovered that the Red Force has created X-EXO clones. So some theories now think that instead of "Ko Ko Bop" being about the EXO members, it might be showing us X-EXO. If you remember in "Obsession," the members in the bright colors with the crazy hair and makeup were the X-EXO clones and the members in the all black outfits were EXO. So now some theories think that maybe because "Ko Ko Bop" is so colorful, that it is showing us X-EXO right after they were brought to life, and this is their first time out in the world. So X-EXO are playing with their powers and trying to figure out how they work, and they are getting acclimated to their environment, etc. It really doesn't make a whole lot of difference whether you watch most of EXO's content in order, because SM expects all EXO-Ls to have super duper memories in order to remember every detail that you have ever seen or heard from EXO. LOL. To make it even more difficult to follow, "Ko Ko Bop" is the MV where fans started to realize that the story was not necessarily in chronological order. Even within a specific MV, the story is often being told in a disjointed order. Case in Point, "Power" came out in 2017, and the current theory with the story in "Power" is that it is part of the beginning of EXO's storyline. So as fans, if you want to follow EXO's story, you have to become a detective and analyze everything that EXO does in order to try and figure out where each piece fits within the larger storyline. However, at this point, it's only theories and educated guesses. With every new release from EXO it adds another piece to their story. Sometimes that new piece helps to confirm what we thought was happening, and other times it turns everything on its head and we realize that what we thought was happening wasn't even close. We can only hope that someday SM will finally explain everything, so we will know whether what we have been thinking all along is correct.

For Kokobop: They have been captured and drugged in the LuckyOne MV. In KokoBop they were a little hazy, looking like they are sobering up by Omma Suho's blue drinks. They were trying their forces but not much of a success... that's why they seem like they are high on some weed to EXO-virgin eyes. (The logo, the song name and the mv helped that misunderstanding a lot tho). The name of the album told us that this is the beginning of the winning war against red eye "The War" and the repackage said that they got it "The Power of Music". Sum: only beauty and hard work and music can save human soul. I am a true believer of Exo.

Do Kyungsoo is incredible in every way. He is one of the few vocalists who can make your heart flutter and cause a storm of emotions. He manages his deep voice and sweet timbre with such ease that the same part can sound completely different, " starting very rough and ending unrealistically soft." Kyungsoo's unique voice gives each song a unique charm. I'm ready to listen to his voice endlessly. In the summer, we are waiting for his first solo album.

It's a bit hard to understand because there are a lot of theories, but EXO's concept revolves a lot around parallel universe that's why some MVs don't make sense if you try to connect it existing theories. Yet they are also considerably connected because they are still the same people but only in a different universe (Power MV hints that). It will be harder to explain since their concert VCRs are also connected to their lore, so more confusion! 😂 Not to mention, Baekhyun said their new album is the continuation of Power hahahahaha

Part of EXO's mission is they are constantly fighting against and battling the Red Force for control. The Red Force is thought to be here on Earth inflicting their evil agenda and corrupting humanity and causing all the bad things that are happening in the world such as war, hate and destruction of the environment, etc. While on their quest to locate and protect the Tree of Life, EXO is also tasked with trying to fix everything the Red Force has caused. And because EXO is trying to undo and prevent the Red Force from accomplishing their goals, the Red Force is also trying to take down EXO by capturing them, corrupting them and standing in their way, etc. In "Love Shot" I'm not sure why they first ended up at the gas/service station or the cinema/movie theater, but the story in this MV is all about how the Red Force is trying to corrupt and control them. For example, supposedly, most fans agree, that Xiumin may have been captured by the Red Force -- or maybe Xiumin's X-EXO clone has infiltrated the group. If you notice, Xiumin is squaring off with a group of guys with guns, but a few seconds later we see someone with a mask and when the mask is removed you see that it's Xiumin, which seems to show that he may not be who we think he is. And when Chen is sitting in the theater watching the film, you see what fans agree is probably Suho, as the leader, covering Chen's eyes as he tries to protect the members by preventing them from watching the film. The movie is thought to probably be the Red Force trying to control EXO with whatever is being shown on the screen. You also see references to the movie screen with Chen being projected on the screen in their MV for "Lucky One" and the scene where Suho is running through the forest in their MV for "For Life," etc. These instances seem to be showing times when the Red Force are using the videos to brainwash EXO and to keep them incapacitated so they don't try to fight back or escape, etc. In "Love Shot" one theory is that the members are fighting to discover who has been corrupted by the Red Force and who may not be who they say they are, etc., which I see as a sort of continuation of the story in "Tempo." which is why you see them being very suspicious pointing their guns -- which are filled with alcohol -- at each other. (Get it? the song is called "Love Shot" so it has a double meaning: Love Shot like a gun and Love Shot like a shot of alcohol. :D) The flowers have two purposes, one is they represent Love and EXO is collecting love, but also the flowers are a big part of EXO's storyline. There has been a flower theme that continues throughout all of EXO's MVs. The flowers are thought to be something that EXO is collecting and trying to get rid of to prevent the Red Force from being able to control people, etc. They often collect the flowers and then burn them, like you see in "Love Shot" and in EXO-CBX's "Hey Mama." Blue roses also have some sort of significance, but I am not sure what yet -- we see EXO with a blue rose in their concert performances of "Lightsaber" and we see Sehun with a blue rose in "Love Shot." Some of what happens in this story is explained by past MVs and other parts will hopefully, be explained as the story continues in future MVs. Baekhyun is actually one of the main characters in EXO's storyline so he is often set apart or singled out in EXO's MVs. He is often the one that stands alone or is highlighted in the story. In their "Power" MV Baekhyun has been singled out and is sort of separated from the other members. Which seems to suggest maybe Baekhyun is the only member that hasn't been corrupted by the Red Force. So that is why in "Tempo" and in "Love Shot" we see Baekhyun standing on top of the building looking down on the rest of the members, almost as if he is observing them from another dimension or from another time period. Baekhyun is often the one who is going behind the scenes to help EXO. For example, we see him disguised as a member of the police as he rescues the other members from the back of the police van in "Monster," and we see Baekhyun facing off with and confronting Xiumin in "Love Shot." :D And now that we have discovered that the Red Force has created X-EXO, EXO's evil clones, as part of "Obsession's" story, I am also starting to think that maybe in "Love Shot" we aren't just seeing EXO. I think maybe when we see the members dressed in the bright colors -- for example, when they are in their suites -- this might be X-EXO and when we see the scenes were they are in black, this could be EXO. Because, if you remember, in "Obsession" we find out that the members in all black are EXO the good guys, and when we see them in the colorful outfits with the crazy hair and makeup that is their X-EXO alter ego clones. This could also explain why Kai is dressed in a red suit. Although I am sure their stylists put him in red because he looks really good in it, I think SM chose it because it's another hidden message within the storyline. Usually, whenever we see red in EXO's MVs this has something to do with the Red Force, so for a long time I have been wondering why then would they put Kai in a red suit? However, now that we know about the X-EXO members, I am starting to think that when we see the members in their colorful suits and clothing in "Love Shot" this is actually the X-EXO members, so when we see Kai in red this is his alter ego clone, as well as the other members when we see them in suits, etc. I also think maybe the members who are collecting all the flowers in "Love Shot" are really X-EXO, as part of some evil plot, etc. If you look at the members expressions and the outfits they are wearing in the scenes where you see them collecting the flowers, this reminds me a lot of what they looked like in their MV for "Ko Ko Bop." Since "Obsession," theories now think that what the "Ko Ko Bop" MV was showing us was X-EXO right after they were created as they are becoming acclimated to the world and learning how to use their powers, etc. Which would explain why everything in the "Ko Ko Bop" MV is so brightly colored as well. But you should also know that no one really knows for sure what is happening in any of EXO's MVs. There are well known theories and storylines that are accepted within the fandom which we think might explain what is happening in each MV. And there are theories about how each MV is connected and where each falls within their larger storyline, but nothing is set in stone. As we have discovered with EXO's latest installment of their story with "Obsession," fan theories are constantly evolving and changing with every new piece of the puzzle and now it has completely changed what we thought we understood about almost everything in their previous MVs.

The MVs don’t actually show the storyline in chronological order. The order is all mixed up so exo-ls need to do detective work and come up with clues to figure out the timeline. Some think Where is Love (first MV) might actually be the end because all 12 members are in it and there’s an eclipse which matches the prophecy of how the story is supposed to end.
