Thanks again for another great video. (commenting on another miata video since I have one) :) I love the quality of work you guys do!

Need to get front of my miata done. Inspection from my amateur eyes looks to just be the radiator support bar is only thing bent still. You guys are the real deal

Nice to see Rex supervising from the start. Two things; 1. Way too nice for a race car. 2. You guys don't charge enough for all the work that goes into getting these cars straight. Thanks for the video & I'd like to see the wrapped finish also.

Glad you liked it! My brother must have great posture to be able to balance the tape on his head like that. 😄

Takes a seasoned eye to see that buckle in that black chassis I sure couldn't see it.
@RebuildRex2 жыл бұрын
Definitely! It’s a common place for these Miatas to buckle in a front end collision. So I always check that spot closely. Thanks for watching!

Good afternoon gentlemen, excellent repair. I do like your paint booth. What brand and model is it and are you satisfied with it. It looks wider and longer than any I have looked at. Thanks again and take care. Have a great weekend.
@RebuildRex2 жыл бұрын
This paint booth is called ETL-Listed Side Downdraft Paint Booth. It has been a great booth for me and I get some really clean jobs out of it. Here is a link that gives you all the specifications www.toolsusa.com/product/etl-listed-paint-booth-SDD-1000ETL.html Hope this helps and thank you very much for watching!

Hi Rex. I notice this Miata is sort of special. It has reenforcing metal bars on both doors to connect the front and rear of the Miata. Also the roll-bar is welded to the windshield frame by metal bars. So this is not a convertible Miata. Its body frame is more like a coupe or a complete unitary body construction. Is that true? Why would the owner add to the weight of the car with all these reenforcing welded metal connections?
@RebuildRex Жыл бұрын
This is a race car that runs in the Spec Miata class and all the bars in the roll cage are required for safety by the sanctioning body. These cars don’t have a functioning soft top but they do run a bolt on hard top. As far as the added weight, the car has a minimum weight requirement for the class and typically ballast is add to meet the weight requirement. Hope this answers your questions? Thank you very much for watching!

Where do you get the car measurements from? Online database or published book? All three of you guys are hard workers!
@RebuildRex2 жыл бұрын
The measurements that I use are from (Chief) the frame machine manufacturer. The under hood measurements are also available on my estimate writing system. They both are a subscription base system that is updated annually. I think anyone can get the subscription, but not sure it would be worth just one measurement on a specific car. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.

I enjoyed the greater detail on setting up the car on the machine in the video. Gives me an appreciation of the skill and talent your shop has for repairing damaged vehicles.

Do you use panel spot weld cutters or standard drill bits to remove spot welds? Or do you vary tool depending on location and type of spot weld connection.
@RebuildRex2 жыл бұрын
We don’t use the spot weld cutters. We typically rotate between three different tools, standard drill bit, a thick cut off wheel for grinding, and a belt sander for the hard to reach spot welds. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching!!
