Explaining how Bystander Hwayoung's passive works with artifacts.

One could argue with smile gate that, this should work the way we thought it would. Only because of the buff to Sigurds, old would make sense. But new one, you get the buff right away so it's a matter of priority in this case and seems like passive skills are before artifact effects. Both activate at the start of the battle however.

Sigurd will heal more when u hit 50% BUT pipette did always out DPS a Sigurd (even before change)

In game when you enter battle with her, the first line is Sigurd Scythe and then below you have Divine Vessel, are we sure that Sigurd Scythe attack is not counted ? Because sure her passive says it takes her attack at the start of the fight, but sigurd scythe 's attack boost is also gained at the start of the fight, and seems to proc before, or at least the visual.

He said he did testing with someone. All you have to do is load into an RTA lobby and attack her, then swap an artifact in with the same attack stat and compare the numbers.

Its because of sigud and other attack increasing artifacts as well as imprints

Imprints are applied at the start of the fight and should count. Unlike Sigurd that’s applied after the start of the fight when you see the artifact name proc

theyre added on character screen, you can see number changing if you toggle it from team to self

The only mechanic I find weird in epic 7 is how life steal works. You are supposed to heal from the damage you deal but if your opponent has invisibility you still heal even though you deal 0 damage.

You still deal full damage to immortal units. TSurin is pretty decent into ML Ken because when he counters her burst he will only be dealing 3k~ damage due to her damage limiter passive. Same for Gala.

So the stat from the arti (ATK & HP) applied only after byoung's passive?

stats from artifact applied before and are included in the passive. Effect of the artifact (the 20% bonus) are applied after the passive and is not included

If you're competitive then yes, considering the current problematic units includes a lot of tanky light units. If you're not competitive then no, you need a good gear for her, and she can't be protected by def buff, stealth, invincibility, revive buff, ruele dmg reduction, barrier, immortality, etc

She is without a doubt the weakest ML5 they've released in over a year. Probably the weakest since Kayron.

@TheVermilion99 and @Rinsletify , are we playing the same game? How the hell is ml hwa niche and weakest ml5 released in over a year when she is countering most of the strongest units in the game like lrk, ruele, benya, illynav and ml luna, and some somewhat annoying tanks like arowell and carmin. She even counters to a degree some non light units like mort, harsetti, sba and ddr. You guys either expected a broken unit or you just play pve modes. (well sba is light, but you catch my drift).

good to know, i was first considering putting her on pippete lance and then swayed to sigurds, thinking that the atk will apply to the defense. now a big question from me. do you know how she interacts with atk imprints from other units? do they apply at the same moment as artifacts, or beforehand?

Team Imprints works with her BASE stats where as artifact effects are base on your TOTAL stats. Example: Alencia with 7k base HP and 25k HP with gears and Sweet Miracle. It doesn't give Alencia 700 HP but rather 10% of her actual HP which 2.5k HP and thus a total of 27.5k HP Alencia on sweet miracle. Team Imprints works like additional gear stats so 10% team imprint will get your Alencia 25.7k HP total

@@kirikolp9897 yes. The only way to buff BHwa is by the use of team wide artifact buffs like warhorn and watergun shooter. And the only way to protect her is by the use of Aurius/adamant shield. She will also benefit for the team wide def buff of Rise of the Monarch, but she won't get any barriers.

Same question here, coz my Hwa with 1k deference and 4100 attack (here should be some scaling) dies like she have 0 deference... Harsetti S3 deal damage that is almost 40% hp of my Hwa and every ML Senya that I've fought just one shot me with her S3 (regular without triggering S2). So I want to know the numbers.

​@DraWalli for one, ml senya fully penetrates defense. Doesn't matter if you have 300 defense or 3000 defense, unless ML Ilynav is there, she fully pens. Secondly, if you have 1k defense on your hwa, and your attack is 4.1k, then you should be getting an additional 1640 defense, making your total defense 2640.

This actually makes me think. Should that mean that Bystander Hyayoung should be equipped with equipment where the main/substats are of addition based attack bonus cause it will work in tandem with her passive?

Attack > Crit Damage on her, yeah. Of course you still want some crit damage, but prioritize attack.
