Being Welsh, I can't compete at the level of a true Irishman when it comes to drinking, but I do remember one wedding when I was 14 and the reception party was in some kind of scout hut with a free bar being run by a couple of the guests, All I know - and can remember - is that me and my 8 year old cousin ended up being the only humans capable of serving drinks by about 7pm in the evening. Of course, we also started hammering the champagne ourselves. I can remember my cousin projectile vomiting over one of the bridesmaids just before "the fight" started (no idea why or between whom - there was always at least one fight). All gets hazy after that. Vaguely remember my Dad pissed as a fart driving us to the hotel and then I was hallucinating and couldn't sleep all night, so played on the pinball machine in the lobby until breakfast time. So... yeah, if I told any of my American friends that they would stare at me in horror but, hey... that was my first experience of what you call, having a "drink drink" and it definitely wasn't my last 😎Damn, I miss those days !
