Shameful to only interview one perspective of the statute change. The amendment not only changed the verbiage of the statute, it repealed all the subdivisions of the statue, including what defines a born alive infant, relevant protections for those children (such as guardianship status and rights in death), and outlines civil or disciplinary consequences should the medical provider fail to comply. If this repeal truly was about keeping the legal standard for all infants "born alive" the same, regardless of how the children were born, why was the legal definition of "born alive" repealed? Why is there no definition to describe what an "infant who is born alive" means?

Explaining it? It is a constitutional law that is unwritten and put in place single handedly by a single judge because he said it's there. It was never voted on by the people. And now we treat it as if it's a law. Last I checked, judges only enforce the law. Not write it.

Oh, they know if they had a vote of the people with only this topic, it would produce Kansas like results. Reporting Requirements: Minnesota law now requires providers to make more limited reports regarding the provision of reproductive health care services. The new, abbreviated reproductive health-related reporting requirements include: The number of abortions performed by each physician in the previous calendar year, The physician’s medical specialty, Whether the abortion was performed via telehealth or in a health care facility, The procedure used, The period of gestation of the fetus, The age of the patient, and Any complications. (Minn. Stat. § 145.4131, subd. 1.)

Palliative care/comfort care, in these cases, can literally just be throwing a blanket over the child on a cold metal tray and walking away. @@freedomishavingachoice3020 the risk of dying in childbirth is less than 10 in 100,000 births. (Data from CDC) In 2021 there were 625,000 abortions reported and not every state reports abortions so the number is even higher. In 2021 there were 3.66 million births. Using the first data of pregnancy deaths we can estimate 1 death per 10,000 births. So for 3.66 million births thats approximately 366 deaths. Its tragic that anyone dies. But I find it incredibly sad that people would choose to save 366 lives over 625,000 lives. Please also recognize that almost every argument defending abortion is defending less than 3% of all abortions. The 3% representing medical emergency, raqe, lncest. Last stat I checked stated that the other 97% of abortions are voluntary. Abortion is overwhelmingly used as birth control and nobody defends that argument because its (as far as Ive encountered) impossible to defend. So instead proxy arguments are used as red herrings.
