EXPLAINING WHAT AN OIL DERRICK IS AND IS NOT

Oh. My. Gosh. I've lived in oil country for over 40 years but never had any personal association with the industry so I don't know a lot about it. I have a pretty clear idea how pumpjacks work but I always wondered about the derricks and why they're seen so much less these days than they used to be. So I finally looked it up and holy moly, my brain just exploded. Thank you so much for this simple, clear explanation. It makes so much sense now!

You need to see the engineers tower model that I have. About 2.5 ft tall with buildings generators and lighting. Powered anamation. All are in cast lead. Platform is finished maghonay with trim About 20 inches wide and 30 long
