You gotta read the book RM read to understand the meaning behind it 😂 RM who mainly wrote it, said he was inspired about a book he read. Like that portion in the MV when RM is speaking, he’s quoting a part of the book it was inspired from. I forgot what it was called, it was explained to me so many times but it’s so complex I can’t remember 😭 Just know it’s deep asf and deserves its praise. Explanation... The song is about the devil. Tempting one of them and he slowly one by one poisons the rest through his influence. Until in the end the one kisses the statue of the devil, showing his commitment. Then he is cursed like the rest of them and begins to corrupt.

There is no way to explain this in 10 words but here's a short and less detailed summary(spent 6 years trying to understand this shit and this is all i got) so there's alot of themes,,,,,,,, losing one's innocence, falling into tempation, good vs evil etc. So i'll start with what's goin on with each of the members. Jin- at the start of the vid we see him standing infront of a picture. That picture displayed a war, between good and evil. So in the BTS storyline Jin is a timetaveler. He goes back in time to a specific date to stop certian incidents from occurring but because of something called the butterfly effect everytime be goes back in past those events can drastically change so he encounters more difficult problems. In the BST mv Jin isn't really there, he's actually watching the good vs evil war between the members from another timeline.(that's what him looking at the picture symbolizes) Its kind of complicated because he's not there but he also is. So fastforward to the near end of the mv where the boys are running towards the exit and Jin is behind them. So the exist the boys are running through is actually the path they all chose(which i believe is the evil path??) but Jin is hesitating because he wants to end this time traveling and finally be together again but he doesn't want to go down the evil path. So Taehyung(V. the main villain i'd say) reassures and convinces him to go to the evil path. In the mv jin eventually accepted that path when he kissed the statue. Yoongi(suga)- alot of stuff goin on with him, he's stuggling with his emotions which was represented by the fog around him when he was sitting on the second floor but when that fog disappeared it showed that his mind was now clear and he wasn't hesitant anymore. So he basically fell into temptation and joined the evil side. Hoseok(jhope)- He is the representation of the good side. In the mv he was basically fighting taehyung and trying to get him back on the good side. Namjoon- im not sure about him but he's trying to manipulate jungkook into joining the evil side. Jimin- he is the represention of losing one's innocence. So he's innocent and he's basically being manipulated by yoongi to join the evil side. In the mv yoongi blindfolds him and gives him an apple to eat and yk leading him to the evil side. Taehyung- mans just evil. Jungkook- he got problems. Again at the near end of the mv we see Jin standing on a table holding a ballon. The ballon represents their innocence. He lets go of the ballon which means they all lost their innocence. Here's some little details in the mv since ion what else to add,,,,,, At the beginning of the mv notice that each of the members are in pairs execpt Jin. Rm with jungkook, Yoongi with Jimin and Jhope with Taehyung. At some point of the mv when they're all sitting at the dining table and jin suddenly looks over to somewhere. He's actually looking at the war bewteen jhope and taehyung(good vs evil) which in the next scene we see jhope shooting an arrow at taehyung but not literally. Taehyung jumping off the balcony because he remembers his days as an angel(he's a fallen angel) Jimin struggling while being tied up and blindfolded means he was trying to fight against yoongi's manipulation. Jin reaching out his hand after he let go of the balloon,, meaning he had some kind of regret. It’s honestly really hard to explain 😂 What I gather from all of the videos I watched in the past. The different colors represent “sin”. The kiss was representing Jin (who played a character from the book Damian) accepting and becoming one with himself. The book itself talks about how there is ‘good in evil, and evil in good’ and the whole music video is showing that. Jin is being tempted throughout the whole video. Everything they do in the video is perfectly crafted to send this message. It’s honestly 🔥🔥 and really deep. I’d encourage you guys to watch a more detailed explanation!

It's so hella deep it rivals the marianna Trench. As to the song RM wrote it after reading the novel Demian by German author Hermann Hesse. The novel is about the loss of innocence as you mature into adulthood.

Hey guys, love your reaction, its would be difficult to explain in 10.words 😊 -- firstly, the song and the dance moves, i love it, you guys should check out the dance practise, you guys will love it -- for the explanation, well the message i receive deals with self realization, and the song's.msg is that each person has a light and dark.side, in order to achieve full self realization, one has to accept both of themselves - the video draws inspiration from mythology to explain this - when Jin was staring at a painting, that painting i believe is the "War of the angels", the statue is the god Abraxis, also RM who wrote this song drew inspiration from the book "Demian", the quotes by RM are from.the book, and Suga playing the organ, i believe is also a character from the book - for an explanation i highly recommend 2 videos, one by XCeleste, the other by Bookish theories.
