What do you recommend if you don't have the actual shirts? What if you have mockup packs that are different from the actual shirts you sell? For instance, I've seen some cool 3D animated mockups, but they aren't exactly real representations of the product, however, they look cooler than regular mockups. What would you say to that?
@shimmymorris12 күн бұрын
@@SdotThompson it depends on the colour and how accurate they are to the item the customer will be buying

If for Etsy, don't do it b/c they will low rate your store and also allow returns on all of your products even without your approval. It's in their rule book not to represent a product with an incorrect picture

Dang… I’ve spend last few days blasting mock ups. I’m averaging about 10/hour 23 colors and we have about 180 designs so far.. After watching this I’m thinking I have to back track. At least 2 things you said, sleeves and tags.. I think the rest looks good but yeah that tag keeps messing with my eyes and the sleeves are kind of bunched up.. arrrggg Thanks for the advice.
@shimmymorris12 күн бұрын
Bunched up is fine! Just folded over is a no no as it’s not what you’re selling. Keep up the good work!

how does CPC go down if the mockup is good? I don't understand the correlation. if many ppl click on the ad, the CPC goes down?
@shimmymorris12 күн бұрын
yes, if the add is more clickable, it will get more attention and FB won't have to try as hard to and spend as much of your budget to get those clicks

The best is to shoot your own photos when possible and also create your own mock-ups. It's not that hard and at least, nobody have the same as you so you pop up in the listing. I don't do POD but do microstock and the photos I sold from the mock-ups I created made thousands of dollars in 8 years I start to do it. You should do a video showing to your audience how to make them, I'm sure they'll like it.
@shimmymorris12 күн бұрын
That’s a good idea. But not everyone has cameras. Lighting and a backdrop. That stuff can be expensive
@christophecoat19142 күн бұрын
@@shimmymorris1 no need all that. I have then and never use them. Natural light is better, sure, you are in the UK so, not much good outdoor light except 4 months every year but it' manageable. For indoor if you're at home, a LED light and a white fabric can do the trick and camera, smartphone works well. I sell a lot of photos with my smartphone even though I got a DSLR too but, I shoot a lot in shops and other places (to get backgrounds and objects) where smartphone pass easy and DSRL aren't allowed. Smartphones to do mock-ups it's doable, I'm done many

@ id love to see them. Personally I’d never use a phone to shoot mock up pictures. The detail isn’t there the colour accuracy isn’t there etc. but then again, I’m a professional photographer so am much as I like using my phone for photos, I don’t think they’ll ever produce what a good quality DSLR does. And if your gna take on your phone I’d just buy professional mockups online
@christophecoat1914Күн бұрын
@@shimmymorris1 Well I'm professional photographer too, selling online for the past 2 decades and as sole mean of income for 5 years. Most photos are used for web display, not for printing so good smartphones and even compact cameras are well enough especially for product and food photographies (done a lot and sold a lot) while DSRL are my go choice for outdoors shooting. You should try, if your lighting is sufficient enough, it will do, trust me on that one, plus you can do a video about it : How to shot a photo with a smartphone vs DSRL and do a mock-up with it.

@ cool idea. But then again. My lights are over £1000 which people Don’t have. I’d have to make it accurate. So only using natural light and a white bed sheet for a back drop. Then it would be somewhat “free” for people. But I’ve done that before and those photos don’t compare. I understand the the concept of making your own mockups for basically no money. But if it’s between making mediocre mockups or paying a fiver for some professional ones. I’d always suggest getting the professional ones

I wanted to provide some constructive feedback regarding the process for accessing your free assets. While I understand that offering resources through a sign-up process helps build engagement, labeling them as "totally free" is misleading when access requires joining a group, waiting for approval, and ultimately paying for the full set. Additionally, requiring personal information upfront-without first demonstrating the value or clearly communicating the terms-can inadvertently erode trust with potential customers. A more transparent approach might be to genuinely offer the free assets without barriers and then politely request an email or sign-up as an optional gesture of support. Alternatively, you could explain that joining the group gives access to mock-ups as a no-cost gift upon approval upfront. This way, you maintain goodwill while setting clear expectations, which could foster stronger trust and customer relationships. Thank you for your time. I hope my effort to create feedback proves helpful in building reliable and repeatable trust with your initial customers by offering a more transparent and accessible experience.

@@gdesigns6895 thank you I appreciate the advice. Because joining the community is free. Putting the resources there is just a place to allow me to house them. Putting an email into a website or into the community is the same thing. It’s still considered free if you need to put your email in. I also always make sure to mention what is free and what is not. I never say all the assets are free. That would be a lie. I just say what is actually free. I would for the community not to have an approval process but it needs it because it’s free and free communities attract scammers and spammers. Thousands of them. If I don’t have an approval process it would destroy the community. I appreciate your feedback but can’t do much about it. If someone has an issue or finds it hard to join a community and wait a few hours then really I’d say your not cut out for the hardship that comes with building a business in the first place. At the end of the day, money isn’t exchanged to get what I’m offering. There’s no paywall for the templates I mention are free.
