A video tutorial on our last project in process here on team, the Exploding PodCast Set.
Variations on this set will be featured in the upcoming CGB Pattern Book. Get started early by making your PodCast and Spine, our two most reliable casting tools. The PodCast build makes a very flexible, soft Spine.
Start with a 24-Point PodCast Bead, and add a Wave and a 19" Casting Spine.
See fun with the Wave Section of this Set here:

Great video. I can finally understand just where everything goes, and how it comes apart later. Very much looking forward to the next video. Thanks!

Thank you for the great video. I bought your book during Covid lock down and was so intimidated by the technique that I really didn't attempt it. I just drooled over the projects. After seeing how easy it truly is I'm excited to give it a try.

The beads in the round, what size is the best or does it matter

Do you mean the round beads for the center ring? We like size 8 for this, and we use size 11 Delica cylinders for the rest.

I’m a little disappointed and frustrated that you don’t show how you start the next phase at each new part! For example, exactly when/where did you add the loops for the spine? You mentioned you “already added” the blue and white two-two-two rows of peyote, but you didn’t actually show that part from the beginning. I keep coming out with too many beads for that row, and I don’t know why! I’m not sure if I’m supposed to skip the very first bead after the loop, and it’s not really clear on the video. And what happens at the end of the two-two-two rows, at the point ends? Do I just skip them?

Don't be disappointed, just back up a little bit so you can see what we are doing and why. These are all new techniques, and some of them look incredible. If your bead count is a bit different it really doesn't matter, and the loops on the Spine don't matter a bit - if you have them, if you don't, when you put them on. If you've never done a Deconstruction before, why not start with these: This is a free, full 45 minute class on the concepts: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5ylno2hgNaZZ6s This is 4 minutes of how to take the bangle off: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6vHgnRrrLCtjJI Please look at our whole channel if you want to see how we got here - and our new books will be out soon, showing all of our new techniques in fully stepped out photos and illustrations. Well, I was able to get the foundation podcast and the wave part made, but I didn’t understand how/where the loops or stops get put in, and I really didn’t get...going back and forth? Wouldn’t you just work rounds of peyote until you come back to the start? That’s what I did, I just put one stop bead on at the beginning of the spine row because I couldn’t actually see how and when you added the first loop. The problem came when I deconstructed, I couldn’t really see how to get the stitch in the ditch going, and ended up with the spine coming off before I was ready and somehow missing three beads in that row. So sadly I had to take the spine apart and now I guess I’ll have to start again from the podcast! It’s taken me three days and two attempts to do it, not really looking forward to another. ☹️

I'm sorry you had a problem! As I mention in the video, I only use the loops because I prefer them to a plain flat turn. I like to have something to hold onto, or to connect to. Don't feel too discouraged that you had one problem on Deconstruction, it is a new technique, and it's hard to explain all of the things that can go wrong if we don't see photos from you. The Stitch In The Ditch is a running stitch that goes through the second round of the Spine, and only the second round. And if you skip a few, you can always go back and add them. I'm sorry you took your Spine apart, but now that you know it's only three rounds of plain flat turnaround peyote, perhaps you can try again with colours that are very clear for you - something like a hot red for the second round, and a hot blue for the bead you Stitch in the Ditch with? We are here to help if you choose to try again.
