This is essentially how the sportsbetting ecosystem should operate on leakage and dealing with Advantage Players. The consumer, should have the right to play these spots, not be tossed or limited.. and in turn, the operator gets smarter and turns the odds to a point where the odds are not advantageous but fair. I just hope, when they're reducing on 1 side, their keeping the vig fair and raising the other.

There is a lot of Value to be found with IN SEASON NFL win totals at Fanduel...........I bet the Bengal's just before week 7 over 7 1/2 wins( Cincy already had 4 wins as of week 6) laying 15 cents 2 days before the beat the Ravens, number jumped to 10 1/2 minus 20 cents under the day after the game which was one week ago............I immediately middled half my bet so I hit both bets on 8, 9, 10 wins..................I also have Cincy over 6 1/2 from pre season

Love the content! IMO you and Spanky consistently put out amazing and helpful content and I'm very grateful. I do have a general question about betting limits. I'm in PA and plan to grow my bankroll by middling and scalping games by keeping my risk for loss as close to zero as possible. If I'm only betting around $100-150 on one book for a game and about $75-100 on the other, do I really have to be worried about being limited? I'll be spreading my action around 10-15 total sportsbooks, so I don't think I should be over betting on one book. Just curious from your experience if this is something I should be prepared for or if it should be pretty smooth sailing until I start hitting $500-1,000 amounts.
@CaptainJackAndrews
@CaptainJackAndrews 2 жыл бұрын
You probably don't need to worry about limiting with those stakes, but you also won't be growing your bankroll too fast either. Your profit would probably be around $2/wager so it could be several years before you have a bankroll large enough to have bets that cause a book to limit you. I think what you'll find when you do get limited is that you are being limited by soft books (where you win) and not limited by sharp books (where you lose). Betting just into the soft books alone would have been a better bankroll builder if you could endure the variance.
@johnm4817

@@CaptainJackAndrews Appreciate the response. I'm gonna have around a 5k bankroll to try and grind with so I could try and find roughly 10 arbitrage opportunities a day with around a 1-2% payout and wager $500 total on each bet. Should bring a daily payout around $50-100 if done properly. I definitely subscribe to the "top down" approach, so picking off weak or mispriced lines would be a great option too! Just want to try and keep the risk as minimal as possible when starting out haha

beyond the fact that i understoood only around 30% of what you presented , the rest being foreign language to me ,FD adjusted way too fast while you gotonly 30-40 % of your ev, getting lucky in the process in one week by not betting losing results. the way they adjusted that fast.. come on 3 weeks??? it means they have guys OF YOUR caliber or better in their team. maybe the work is not that much for you to spot such a situation next time, but is tremenduously more work for me to get that, and giving their fast reaction time to cancel my whole work suppossed i even realize the spot , thats no good work- reward ratio to get to pursue. but thank you for the nice video,captain EDIT : their very short time reaction to tighten up their offer leads me to conclude that your large size bets compared with average population hurt them enough to get someone of your calibre to look deeper into the crack and plug it, therefore your betting hurts novices like me , the picture i look at is david vs goliath since they have guys like you employed and they also set up the market,offering odds ... against noobs like me

This wasn't a palpable error (the term books like to use) - it was a systematic miscalculation. Even then, the ability for a sportsbook to cancel pending wagers varies by jurisdiction. In most US states, they need approval of the regulatory body to cancel a pending wager. Rather than risk potential fines from the regulator, the majority of US books just eat their mistakes.

Hi Capt Jack. Thanks for this video. Q: Instead of a bettor manually going thru all the myriad of bets, why isn’t there a simple program that, literally, does the “heavy lifting” and tells a bettor what the best wagers are. Especially if a person says “I don’t care what team I bet on, just tell me and I’ll cheer for that team”, wouldn’t it still give them the excitement of watching that game yet optimize their odds for winning? I understand that info distribution itself will sway the bets and thus the odds, but I’m thinking that the program just spits out the live instantaneous info for that point in time, nothing more. Can you create this and we will pay by subscription and join? 💵 thx

@@CaptainJackAndrews the "use for themselves" statement is so simple yet apparently not understood by new sports bettors. Why would anyone divulge useful info to the 'enemy' (and other bettors are unfortunately the enemy) that is profitable and potentially novel? Taken to the extreme, would someone willingly tell you where the 'X' is on a treasure map? The only scenario whereby 'selling' info is better than 'using' info is if there are so many clients willing to pay, that the guaranteed income is more than enough to compensate for not using the data yourself. If you have a profitable betting method, get some investors, make a good deal, and keep the data and method to yourself. There's a great article on the web about a guy who found a software error in certain video poker machines. He could have exploited that for years and years, and made millions under the radar. Yet what was the first thing he did? revealed the secret and method to an old friend. You cant fix stupid :)

I use the implied probability of the wager to find out what probability I'd have to exceed to have a profitable scenario. I then use the Alt Lines Calculator at Unabated.com to find the TRUE probability of an alternate line. Those probabilities exceeded the implied probability of the wager, that's how I knew there was an edge.

i've been getting pretty good at those same game parlays. They play off a similar analysis to DFS, which is what built my sports betting bankroll. Same game parlays predicting a couple touchdowns and yardage o/u for individual players. They constantly have odds around +1000, and i do it for ~5 games every week. usually at least 1 hits. Plus they have been giving out 1 risk free same game parlay per week up to like $25, so im only wagering 4 with 5 possibly paying. Printing units. I still chuck up 5-10 dfs lineups a week, because if u get a top 10 lineup its +10000 to +100000. I no longer throw an ungodly amount of permutations together each weekend though.

I am so tired of this ongoing constant debate. How many picks a day do pros make on average. I've got guy that owns a handicapping service asking me to show him one pro that bets more than 6 per day, that most only bet 2 or 3. I've got another guy saying that he learned from the old school grinders who may at times make 20 plus bets per day. I would assume it's a mix of both depending on various factors. If you were to get paid 1 million dollars if you could correctly guess the average daily number of bets across the top 100 of the most profitable full time sports bettors, what would your guess be?
@CaptainJackAndrews
@CaptainJackAndrews 2 жыл бұрын
You answered your own question. It depends. In this case with a huge edge I was making as many plays as I could. If I had no edge I'd make no plays. There's no secret formula for winning at sports betting based on a certain number of bets. First you find an edge, then you bet.

Happily the place I live legalized online sports betting. The books I have access to easily post over 4 million lines a week in any sport you can imagine. I would estimate that 1% of these line are soft if not outright terrible. Look for the sports you have never heard of learn about them then start looking at lines.
