Nice follow up to the unboxing intros of SCS and 2ndF, which go into more detail. Seems to be a lot of new interest in modern naval conflict, new titles and possibly redoing old titles.

Good video, nice look at the games! 👍 Old AH counter tray in 2nd Fleet! Blue Water Navy looks interesting to me.

Received modern naval battles global warfare. I love it . Easy to learn and play , I would not play with more than 3 people because it take up space with the the cards.

I'm not a big naval game guy. AH: Submarine, Bismarck, Dauntless(BL/AH), Midway (👎), Trireme, & WS&IM. 5 Sub solo games. GMT & DVG. 2 DG Micro pack games-Battle of the River Plate and Battle of Denmark Straits. I guess nearly drowning while learning to surf, put me off of naval games...lol Again great video👍👍👍

Thanks for an excellent overview. I did have a look at Modern Naval Battles a while back but decided against it, I wish it used dice similarly to Kaiser's Pirates. With 6th Fleet, I think that Mare Nostrum (WaW magazine) also uses the Red Dragon system - same theatre, but a different time period (second world war). I'm still to go through my copy. South China Sea was looking quite interesting for a while, but I don't like the 2-sided counters. As usual, wish the same system was used in a second world war. I really like the combat resolution in the game, straightforward (no CRT) but providing a good variety of highly thematic units.

Yep, Mare Nostrum: War in the Mediterranean is part of the Red Dragon Rising System; but I have not played that one yet. Thanks for watching and the comments.

Is Modern Naval Battles an updated version from an older game? I own an older Modern Naval Battles from way back.

Yes, I believe it is an updated version of a 3W edition (1989) - I also have the original print-n-play version, as well.

I thought so, I have all the expansions for it also. I remember teaching and playing this game to my shipmates on my very first submarine!!! Great times...

8-9/10 game (detractions are from overuse of dice, but i guess alternative would be to play Harpoon for every engagement lol), -10/10 manual - critical info (and especially some important unit properties, like F-14 anti missile capability, or fact that you don't need to detect submarines like task forces and just need to roll ASW is simply absent in the text) is scattered around the book in most random places, example of play have rules absent in text section and overall extracting info out of it is like analyzing convoluted law document.
