Yeah, while we don't think that Flamenco wasn't quite the prettiest of the 3, it was definitely the easiest to get to, was the most swimmable, and had the best amenities. we have been traveling to Culebra nearly every year (except during COVID) since 1993 -- some years going twice. you need a LOT more time there to really get to know that tiny place. I hiked to Brava twice this year and it is spectacular - much easier than Resaca. and shade there as well. nice palms. We did a night-time camp over on Resaca over with the FIsh and Wildlife Service many years ago when they were doing the turtle surveys. What an experience. Flamenco is beautiful but touristy. Still, well worth a visit. Zoni is on northeast side of the island. Wonderful. Larga is a good walking beach but no swimming. Punta Soldado has good snorkeling but the better place for that is Tamarindo -- near Flamenco. Mostly coral beach with some sand, it is beautiful for sunsets and has excellent beginner to middle-skill snorkeling. Carlos Rosario has exceptional snorkeling as does Melones. THe leeward beaches are mostly coral but have incredible rocks, boulders, shells and plant life. Snorkeling is very good. Nice beaches also on the cays offshore. Culebrita and Luis Pena have great stopovers - scenic and great snorkeling.

I was a big NOPE on that first trail till I saw that beach. Then I said, hey no prob. I’ve been on worse for much less at the end of the hike.

Yes, definitely worth it once you reach the beach. It was a somewhat challenging hike, but something anyone in decent physical condition could do. Just take your time and don't forget to pack water (like we often do!).

I think the website should say if tickets are available at the counter. But yes you should be able to purchase them at the counter as long as they are not sold out.

The island of Culebrita which is right off of Culebra has even more spectacular beaches than Culebra. The problem is you need a boat to get there.
@Explorcation2 жыл бұрын
We've seen some pictures of Culebrita and it looks absolutely amazing. Unfortunately we didn't have the time to visit that island on this stay, but it's definitely on our radar for our next visit to Puerto Rico! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, Kenneth!

But why you didn’t go to the Zoni beach? Which is much better than all of them combined! Except Culebrita of course.

Another island off Fajardo called Icacos is said to have a better beach than Flamenco with good snorkeling. Boat ride needed.

All of the culebra beaches were great but my family and I thought zoni beach on the north east side of the island and playa tortuga on culebrita were the best. The scenic driving around culebra was also amazing and fun!
