They were having a jet ski meetup on Three Rooker that day, that's definitely not typical. Everyone seemed to be behaving and enjoying themselves. Usually it's far less crowded than that. Lots of boats and some jet skis. Anyway I just want to thank Jamie and Skylar for coming out on my boat and making such a fantastic video. We really had a great time, and yes, they are as nice in person as they appear to be in their videos! :-) -Capt Phil

Thank you so much Capt Phil for your kind words and for inviting us out for the day. We had such a great time the day flew by! We hope some of our viewers are able to book a tour and spend a day with you as well to experience the area on the water. It was clear you were very familiar with the area and comfortable navigating the water. We will see you again soon!

That channel that separated Clearwater Bch from Caladesi was Hurricane Pass. In the 1970s we used to walk from Pier 60 to the pass & if the tide was incoming, swim to Caladesi. Imagine Clearwater Bch with free parking & no buildings taller than 4 stories. The tallest things were Mandalay Towers & the water tank that stood by the fire station. The Marine Aquarium was the sewage treatment plant for Island Estates. Before all the houses went up on Island Estates you could walk the new sea walls & castnet for mullet. The bridge from town was a draw bridge & went up for tall masted boats, same with the Sand Key bridge. When Hurricane Camille missed us & hit Mississippi the storm surge was still high enough to cover much of Gulf Blvd in sand. I saw a phone booth on Treasure Island with 3ft of sand in it. Used to have coconut trees but a blight killed them off down to the Keys. You could find sand dollars as big as saucers on the sand bar off Clearwater Bch… blah blah blah that’s how it was.

It’s been a long time but this video made me really miss the days I had my own boat. Which it not the same as missing owning my own boat. It ran as much on dollars as it did on water. This is the perfect option.

I can imagine that missing being out on your boat and missing owning it are two very different things 😆 we have never owned a boat and are so appreciative of Capt Phil for taking us out on his. It really was a treat to visit these places, especially that sandbar, that we otherwise would not be able to visit. We hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Love how all the boats and jetskis just park off on the Island and create their own party. Three Hooker Island must be really nice, as the tourist boats don't go there. We will have to give Captain Phil a call when we come visit one day 😁

What a great way to spend the day! I lost my hat the last time we visited Florida...wind gust blew it right off my head and out of the sunroof of our car! Haha! Thanks for the great video and thank you for including maps! I always pause on them and find them so helpful. Thanks guys!

We agree that island hopping is a great way to spend a day in Florida. What we really like about booking a private tour is the flexibility of choosing your destinations. We have done several ferry tours in the area, which are great budget options, but sometimes we want to really get away from the touristy spots. It is so nice to anchor a boat on a beach that seems almost deserted, yet only be just off of the Florida gulf coast. We would recommend Capt Phil with Phil Good Tours if you are considering a private tour, we had a fantastic day with him out on the water. Thank you so much for watching and commenting 💗

OMG, talk about jets ski village and would have to be hard to find a spot. I get the popularity, but there comes to a point where it's too much and I would go somewhere else - Nice pick going to the north Island instead. But I'm with Skylar, Good having your own tour and bringing the beer LOL I would like to give kite boarding a go one day, but not sure I would be able to do it...I'm sure it a real good arm workout too:) Good thing that hat was still floating when you went back for it ...I can say that's happened to me a couple of times too. Looks like this guy Phil puts on a great day for you and can tailor something around your needs. Well done guys, was a nice way to present the islands :)

Thank you so much Chris 💗overall we had such a great day out on the water with Capt Phil. For those of us who don't have boats, hiring a private tour for a day really is a great option. And of course it is always a plus to be able to bring your own food/drinks for the day! We definitely preferred the more secluded spots, but have to admit, it looked like the jet ski meet up on Three Rooker was a lot of fun!

I would totally book a tour like this, my husband would probably not want to though since he hates being out in the sun. I love how different each of the islands are and you guys certainly arrived in style with your private boat. I really liked the last spot with the pool and lights and the sunset. The food looked great but kind of on the expensive side - though a great location.

Yeah I have Never seen 3 Rooker that crowded with jet skis. It does get crazy on the weekends especially holidays. If we take our boat up there we try to go weekday mornings so we are not dealing with other boats (that don't know how to properly anchor LOL) But it is beautiful there. We typically do Caladesi as it only takes us 30 minutes from our slip.

Squeeze Juice Works, who we featured in today's SunRunner episode, also offers Mexican Mocha (squeezejuiceworks.com/menu) but we have not yet tried it. Hello, I’ve been watching a lot of your videos and it looks to me like the beach at Anna maria island has the nicest turquoise water out of everywhere. Is that true or just looks that way from the videos thanks!
@Explorcation
@Explorcation 2 жыл бұрын
From our experience the water color really depends on a number of factors, such as where the sun is located, how brightly the sun is shining, how deep the water is, and how rough the waters are. We've seen beautiful turquoise waters at beaches all up and down the gulf coast, but Anna Maria does seem to constantly have some of the most beautiful water!

@Explorcation

HI Melissa, it has been so long since we have walked from North Clearwater but it is about a 1.5 mile walk from the northernmost public beach access. There will be a sign to let you know you have arrived in the park. Keep in mind that once you get into the park, you can continue walking North to the main beach area. When we visited there were signs to direct you to the concessions and trails once we got closer to the main beach area. We hope you have a great time when you visit!
