Welcome to Santorini, Greece! 🇬🇷
During our 5-night, 6-day stay, I explored the small villages of Santorini, marvelling at ancient architecture and beautiful streets shaped by volcanic terrain.
🗺️ My itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Santorini and explore Fira.
Day 2: Continue exploring Fira and go on a sunset boat tour.
Day 3: Visit the archaeological site of Akrotiri, and the small villages of Emporio and Megalochori. I went for wine tasting on the same day, but recommend doing it flexibly.
Day 4: Visit Oia and explore the iconic blue-domed churches.
Day 5: Climb to the top of Pyrgos for panoramic views and relax in Black Beach.
Day 6: Spend your last moments shopping in Fira.
💵 Santorini is expensive. The cost of travelling felt similar to London, with even short Uber rides costing around 40 euros for 10 minutes. So, it's wise to rent a scooter or plan your routes carefully.
🧻 Don't flush toilet paper in the toilet; it's easy to forget due to habit. Be careful!
📍 I recommend staying in Fira. It's easy to move up and down the island of Santorini, and it's less crowded than Oia, with plenty of great restaurants nearby.
🌨️ If the weather isn't good, you may need to change your plans a lot, so plan ahead for things you really want to do (like a boat tour) early in your trip. Flexibility in planning is key.
🏠 If you're staying on a Greek island, definitely stay in a white cave house to experience the true essence of Santorini. The atmosphere is wonderful day and night.
🦟 Since there are many mosquitoes and high humidity, make sure your accommodation has a dehumidifier and buy mosquito repellent.
🏃🏻 I didn't experience any crime targeted at tourists like pickpocketing. It's safe.
🧥 It can get windy and chilly at night, so even in summer, it's good to have a light jacket.

5박 6일 동안 산토리니의 작은 마을들을 구경하고, 고대 건축물과 화산지형으로 만들어진 아름다운 거리를 둘러봤어요.
🗺️ 여정
1일차: 산토리니에 도착하여 피라 탐방
2일차: 피라 탐방 계속하고 일몰 배 타기
3일차: 아크로티리 고고학 유적지 방문 및 작은 마을 엠포리오와 메갈로호리 방문. 와인 테이스팅도 갔는데, 유연하게 계획을 세우는 것을 추천합니다.
4일차: 오이아 방문 및 아이코닉한 파란 돔 형태의 교회 탐방
5일차: 피르고스 정상에서 풍경 구경하고 블랙 비치에서 휴식
6일차: 피라에서 마지막 쇼핑
💵 산토리니는 비싸요. 체감상 런던 물가와 비슷하게 느껴질 만큼 물가가 비쌌어요. 특히 우버와 같은 교통수단은 10분 거리에도 40유로씩 지불해야 할 만큼 가격이 좀 있어요. 그래서 스쿠터를 빌리거나 이동 경로를 잘 짜야 해요.
🧻 휴지를 화장실 변기에 버리면 안 돼요. 자주 습관 때문에 까먹기 쉬워요. 꼭 조심하세요!
📍 숙소는 피라에서 지내는 것을 추천해요. 산토리니 섬을 위 아래로 쉽게 이동할 수 있어요. 주변에는 맛있는 음식점도 많고, 오이아보다는 조금 덜 복잡해요.
🌨️ 날씨가 좋지 않으면 계획을 많이 바꿔야 할 수 있어요. 그래서 하고 싶은 일을 미리 계획해 두세요 (예를 들어 보트 투어 등). 유동적으로 계획을 세우는 것이 좋아요.
🏠 어쨌든 그리스 섬에서 지내는 경우 하얀 동굴집에서 묵는 걸 추천해요. 그래야만 산토리니의 진정한 감성을 느낄 수 있어요. 낮과 밤 모두 분위기가 정말 좋거든요.
🦟 모기가 많고 습도가 높으니 숙소에 제습기가 있는지 꼭 확인하고, 모기 기피제도 준비하세요.
🏃🏻 소매치기와 같은 범죄에 대한 경험은 전혀 없었어요. 여행 중에 안전하게 지낼 수 있었어요.
🧥 밤에는 바람이 많이 불고 쌀쌀할 수 있어요. 여름에 가더라도 얇은 자켓을 하나 준비하는 게 좋아요.
