Explore Senegal’s capital Dakar with Fou Malade

Dakar is not only Africa’s most western city but also the home of Fou Malade, a renowned hip hop musician in Senegal. Fou Malade is also known for his readiness to protest whenever he thinks it is necessary. In 2011, the rapper and activist co-founded "Y’en a Marre", a movement which contributed to bringing down an authoritarian regime in the country. Y’en a Marre’s original goal was to draw attention to Dakar’s frequent power cuts, but this soon changed into an uprising against authoritarian rule.
