Jason talks about the Gretsch Broadkaster kit and that great Gretsch sound. When you're serious about recording and performance, it all starts at the source. www.gretschdru... Death Cab For Cutie

So good! When I think of a drum sound, the broadkaster is the closest I have gotten.

Try USA custom or older kits with jasper shells

@@johnthibodeaux5189 the first Gretsch kit I ever got to play was a USA Custom. Led me down the path for the great Gretsch sound. But when I got to hear the new broadkasters with that shell and the modern hardware. I was sold!

@@joshuamartin4317 they are great no doubt. I have yet to play a new Broadkaster kit but I own a “Broadkaster kit from 2002ish. Harvey mason kit but those Broadkaster are in name only. The shells are maple/gum jasper shells like the USA custom of today and vintage.

I’d love a set of Broadkasters. But, I have to pay for food and shelter, so I’ll stick with my Catalina Clubs. 😁

Would love to know what kind of EQ are on those drums. It’s amazing the big sound out of those smaller sizes. Especially that 20inch kick!

For me, it’s Gretsch’s best, but I, too, must stick with my Catalina. Of course, the USA Customs are nothing to sneeze at…

Gretsch, can u guys please start putting the square or drop G badges back on the drums? These drums sounds so good but that round badge just looks so boring compared to the old. I love the look and sound of the 70’s-80’s era gretsch drums

Man how you gonna tell me that it sounds so good when you're choking the hell outta that kit. Tune those toms higher and take the muffle off the snare. Let those drums sing. Gretsch drums are the best sounding drums when they're wide open.
