I live here and have for 79 years. You are right on with your facts and inspiring with your observations ! In school we were taught that Philadelphia was planned with Fire Prevention in mind since Wiliam Penn had personally experianced the London fire of 1666.

A wonderful video and explanation of this beautiful city. Very cleverly planned with parks scattered among high rise. Great history here. One can rest among hustle and bustle and take a breath

Thank you. Philadelphia has a lot more parkland then most big cities which makes it convenient when needing to get away

The one thing I wish about the skyline is there we’re not as many skyscrapers/supertalls. They are too gaudy. Willy Penn doesn’t necessarily have to be the height limit, but not much higher. My favorite buildings in the skyline are 3rd and Walnut and the Commerce Buildings.

Thank you for another beautifully filmed, interesting and informative tour. I had no idea Philadelphia had such beautiful parks in the middle of the city.

Philadelphia has so much going on that parks might get overlooked. They have even nicer areas that I could fit on this video like their largest, Fairmount park, right by the Delaware river. It was the grounds for the 1876 worlds fair, first fair in America for the centennial celebration.

There will be a big new park in Penn's Landing. Ground was just broken for it.

Philly is to SJ what NYC is to North Jersey. My fondest memories of Philly are the Philadelphia Zoo, The Gallery (in its heyday), Reading Terminal Market and the annual Fourth of July celebrations at the waterfront. That’s just to name a few.

Very well researched and presented, Jose. I live 15 minutes from Rittenhouse Square so always feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or need any ideas about Philadelphia. Did you know the subway goes around City Hall because the building is too heavy to go underneath it? Anyway, great video once again!

Thanks for the great feedback Chris. I've taken the train a couple of times and its in some of my videos and I never knew that. City Hall is iconic in its own right and I'm just amazed it weighs that much. I covered the details a bit more in the previous Philly video but this is something totally new for the next time I make a video in the city.

Thank you for stopping by my video. William Penns story happened before America became the United States and Delaware was part of Pennsylvania. The road to becoming its own territory, the first state, and its ties to Philadelphia is really fascinating. If you’d like to learn more and follow the path from this video to ep. 1 - New Castle Delaware, I recommend my playlist on that tour: kzbin.info/aero/PL_-PlD6BDP1MiJkmWJ4WUvw2HHpFCHAQ0&feature=shared
