I love calling North Carolina home. I live in Charlotte so I can go to the mountains or the coast in about the same time. My Parents had a little house in Cherry Grove it was all knotty pine floors, walls, and ceilings. I remember driving forever it seemed like to Painters Ice Cream Shop. It was in the woods then nothing around it for miles. There was also Fort Carolina in Myrtle Beach I still have a picture of me and my Dad in a chair lift. I did my best to take my daughter to the beach and teach her what I had done growing up at Cherry Grove Beach. Thanks you PBS for sharing stories of my home North Carolina!
