In the early 1970"s I learned to repel down the waterfall. I must have done it at least 100 times. Faceing the falls there is a spot on the left where I wedged my way up and over the top. I did that 6 times before swearing off due to the danger. I loved that place.

I seriously thought it was about 30 plus miles total both ways when going to the top. The view up there is just breathtaking. You can see Huntington Beach/ alot of Orange County. You can even see Catalina Island. If the weather is good. You can see Los Angeles. If you go passed the radio tower area. You can see the Riverside county area. Bug spray is a must. You will be attacked by mosquitoes, and flys. I think I did find the burial ground up there. But not sure. If you take the path to the left where the radio tower is. You will eventually end up in Corona. Haven't gone that far yet. That would be about 10 hours I believe or more round trip. Black Star is my favorite so far because of the view. I did get caught out there late and that was kind of spooky. That damn peacock scared the crap out of me at the farm area. I keep hearing reports of KKK members around the area. They hang out around that giant cross. But honestly. I haven't seen anything. I havent been able to find the haunted bus as well. I think its behind one of the areas that has the private property signs. Top of the World I feel is more strenuous than Black Star. Along with Whitening Ranch. There were a few paths that give you a serious leg workout. Just a heads up to people hiking or new to it. Bring a full gallon of water. If you are going to do a serious hike. Bring a good backpack. I bring a gallon of water protein bars, hat, sunglasses, first aid kit, scissors. This is just me though. The water, and a hat should be mandatory. Also there have been mountain lion sightings around Black Star. Someone posted photos of them a few weeks ago on I.G. He was a peta member though. Got upset when I gave advice on how to protect yourself from a mountain lion. He really wanted you to just give up if attacked. Anyway it was really late though. Looked like it was after 10 pm. There was one sited at Whiting Ranch as well a few months ago. All hiking areas have a mountain lion warning. Just be mindful of your surroundings. If you want to get a serious workout in, and burn over 2000 plus calories. Check out the All trails app. The hardest hikes for me so far have been Whiting Ranch, Top of the World [ I still need to explore more of it]. And Black Star. The all trails app gives you info on all hikes in your area. I leave detailed reviews on all hikes that I do in Orange County.

Oh and good trail shoes, or hiking boots a must. I seen a lot of people wear regular shoes, and flip flops. Your feet are going to hurt. You want shoes that will absorb the impact of the terrain you are hiking.

I recommend skyline Dr. From Corona, ca, you will get to the KSOXDOPPLER, or Radartower. (The huge White Ball ). Easy hiking trail. Very fun, a lot adventure is 13 miles around trip, From Black star trail you will need to get Beeks trail , I will try this trail soon .. . They said is 10 miles around trip ...

Y’all ever look out into mountain ranges like that and wonder how many bodies are buried out there?😂 I was driving through Mojave the other day out in the long open desert and mountain ranges and couldn’t help but wonder how many skeletal remains are out there, there’s gotta be bodies from the 1800s or soemthing out there or even closer to modern day, I find it incredibly hard to believe that nobody was ever taken out there and murdered back in the 70s and have never been found or something

Ah, Orange County - my old stomping grounds! In fact, I was actually born in Mission Viejo! I didn't get to go, since I was a kid, when we moved. My dad got transferred from El Toro Marine Base to Cherry Point Base in NC. Thanks to the early 1980's technology, I couldn't even get a chance to fly a drone over there! Sucks to be me! 😭

Shoshone Indians never existed in southern CA. Chumash Indians did, but they were not horsemen. Probably the more interesting and honest history of the canyon is that it was a Hells Angels Motorcycle hideaway. And thus where the rumor of demonic activity come from.
