Explorer ST How To Change Your Oil

If you’re looking to use the best oil on the market for your explorer it doesn’t get any better than driven racing oil. I have high high hopes for this oil and how it holds up in our Ecoboost engine. I’ll definitely be keeping everyone updated on how it performs compared to Pennzoil which I used to run in the explorer. If you’re looking at scoring some driven racing oil or want some info on it their website is a great place to start!

I personally go 7,500 miles or once a year on my ST. I don’t drive much anymore and use Amsoil. Zero issues.

Yeah I understand if you aren’t driving a ton or going to the track a lot like I do.

@@HoustonSpeedFreaks, yeah, I don’t track mine 😅 I also live in a smaller town so my mileage stays pretty low. I’m coming up on 2 years of ownership (mine is a ‘22) and I just hit 12,000 miles. Speaking of performance though, I really hope the single turbo kits keep getting worked on because that’d open up a lot more options for us.

@CornFed_3 oh I agree I’d really love to see a true big turbo stock location upgrades instead of the hybrid options we have now

@@HoustonSpeedFreaks, yeah, the current location on the single kits isn’t ideal because of all of the wiring harnesses. My guess is that they’re doing them that way because of the turbo housing size and trying to optimize air flow. We’ll see how things go in the next 6-12 months though.

Counted 7, but many websites say it takes 6.

@normyd hey brother dealer call for 6 I put 6.5 quarts as these cars a notorious on starving themselves when you launch them. So most tuners will recommend adding an extra half quart to prevent from doing that.

That’s a complete waste of Amsoil product, unless you’re racing it weekly.

@@danielbane3844, over protected? What does that even mean? 😂 I’ve ran Amsoil in all of my vehicles for over 10 years, including all of my diesels. You’re completely wasting it at 3k. An oil analysis would tell you that as well.
