Explores Freeport Shopping Village Blackburn West Lothian

Freeport Designer Outlet , closed around 15 years ago , because of the arrival of the new MacArthur-Glen designer outlet in the center of Livingston . It is now used by Photographers and Movie makers as a special location , recently used to film the game show , we survived a Zombie Apocalypse .

Today there is no access unless invited, as there is 24hr local security and motion sensor CCTV .

I remember watching the Zombie Apocolypse series wondering where they found an abandoned shopping village. Then i seen the five sisters and nearly spat my tea out. It was actually the first time i'd seen Freeport.

A lot of happy memories here as a child, remember it being so busy especially at Christmas! Cheeky Chimps soft play was the best place ever ❤️

It's a disgrace that it shut,it's very sad,it's mostly just forgotten about and a waste of money opening it only for it to close. I have some memories of going there.

Unfortunately not , it is monitored 24hrs via remote security , we were escorted off by a local guard ! very friendly said they had followed us all the way around lol

Why the hell would you build a shopping mall so close to Livi Centre? Is there no planning strategy/foresight these days?

The Centre wasn't as big as it is now when this was planned and opened, to be fair. The centre had only just been extended in 1996 - the section with the glass roof between Primark and Debenhams/M&S - and the outlet wasn't built either.

Built before Livingston , it was the Livingston centre that caused its demise 😢

RPDT Films you would have to request permission from guards or they can put you in contact with the owners , as they have used this site for various films and photo shoots .

Probably, because it has 24 hr security surveillance. And It is used for movies and photo shoots.
