If you don't mind a more rugged/off-road textured look, you should try Speedtex which is a sprayable, polymer. Once coated the bumpers will be UV proof, scratch resistant and anti-bacterial. They will keep their colour and will be very easy to clean with nothing more than a jetwash. It can also be rollered or brushed on too 👌🏻

I sprayed mine with Autotek bedliner paint. Should last for a very long time, been on a year so far. About £10 a can though and I chose to use their plastic primer first as well.

The heat gun is the only one that actually works by bringing the oils back out from the plastic to the surface, thus it'll look the best over time. All the others are effectively surface treatments and will fade pretty quickly. For a quick surface treatment, silicone spray is possibly the cheapest and easiest to apply.

As an interim update, 3 months since they were done now and so far none stand out as significantly better. They all still look good.

Heat gun is best…. made my 2010 Wrangler look new….. did it 5 months ago… no fade yet

Very interesting and I will be very interested to see the results. Just checked the price of Gtechniq C4 - gulp! £20'ish for just over a bumper coverage. Possibly £60 to do the whole van? Gulp x 2.

I know! Mine has loads of plastic so I reckon I would need 4 bottles. It does claim to last 2 years though. So we will see if you get what you pay for! To be fair the effect was very good and it was pretty amazing to see what a difference just a few drops of the stuff made.

Thank you 🏴. For security and privacy I don’t want to be too specific but it is safe to say we’re in Wales. 😃

Can you shows the after few weeks result? It shd be different. Using heat gun more prolongs the results if not mistaken. But you shd perform some coating after using hot gun.😊

I didn't even watch the video but know the best I have used is Car Brites Nano wax. Door trims, window seals, everything. Buff in, buff off and done. Won't run and lasts a while

6 months now, how did they hold up? I know the lineseed does not
@ExploreVanUK2 жыл бұрын
To be fair they have all held up pretty well. I'll give the van a wash in the next week or 2 and get an update video published with a conclusion
@rench1984Ай бұрын
Heat does no long term damage.
@ExploreVanUKАй бұрын
We'll have to agree to disagree on that. In my experience it draws the oils out of the plastic to the surface (hence making it look darker) and over time the lack of oils makes the plastic brittle.

Don't try polish a turd, just remove the trim and raptor paint it. Dead simple, super effective and very durable, also cheaper than that tiny bottle of snakeoil 😜
