Thanks Sean! Was a super memorable river adventure 🐟

Smart thinking with the taverns. Most folk just go for castles and estate houses. The wee island at the top of Loch Lomond is quite good too once you see past the empty Tennents lager cans and Buckie bottles. We used to use it to rinse off the diving gear coming back down from Oban

What sort of age of stuff did ya find there 🤿?
@bam-skater Жыл бұрын
@@bottlesfromthedeep It was one of the islands on the Tarbet-Ardlui stretch. There's parking at the road to a rough clearing that the Weegie yootz use for a weekends camping/bevvying..."Awright err, are yooz they deep sea divers'n'that. Gaunny show's yer knife?". Nothing too old but we were only nipping in for a quick rinse off and not looking for anything. Just pootled out to the island and back again. The stuff that got a pokey-finger was mostly early 1900's bits'n'bobs I'd guess. As a curious wee story one of my buddies found an old bottle from a Helensburgh chemists there, turned out it was another guy in the clubs grandfather that was the chemist, small world!

Great to know! Much prefer making them as well. I don’t think anyone really watched the shorts anyway. Experiment over 😂

You are cleaning these things SO well now…some of my old finds from 40 years ago are still brown stained…..how are you getting them so clean now. Totally fab episode
@bottlesfromthedeep Жыл бұрын
Thanks! This is our protocol! 1:scrub outside with abrasive pad and a bit of barkeepers friend powered 2:bottle brush 3:if still stained inside get some copper shot in there and shake it about! 4:do it I front of a bright lamp to show up all the brown bits!

Grinder tool would allow a lot of precision as you could work down to a smooth shape that stands up when placed…
@bottlesfromthedeep Жыл бұрын
Might well invest in one. I could finish them on my water cooled ski grinding machine as well!
